Aalishai: Palace of Embers
Book Text:
Cherished friends,
I do hope this letter finds you. I have put a lot of trust in the mortal who is delivering it. Not a day goes by without me feeling the pains of our separation. What has happened to you troubles me, even to this moment. I do so long for your companionship and will do anything to see you return. After you were exiled, the leadership decided that I be spared from exile, but they allowed me to stay to make an example out of our group. They hope to discourage anybody who might challenge our new leaders. They keep me here knowing that my fate would be worse than exile. I know that you think that because of my freedom I had betrayed you all, but know that this cannot be further from the truth. I cannot say for certain as to what actually happened that caused your exile, other than conspiracy theories wrapped around more paranoia. I have been spending my time in my own personal exile. I have removed myself from the ranks and have been studying our laws in order to find a way to abolish what has happened to you and let you return home. I will not stop until I can see you again, free and able to travel on your own terms. I cannot leave Aalishai. I am bound to this place by our laws, but know that the moment I am able to undo what has happened you will be welcomed home with open arms.
Your faithful compatriot,
Spear Sundering Ivory
P.S. If Shadow Metal Guardian is reading this, please be sure to destroy it, I cannot risk having it known that I entrusted a mortal to reach out to you.
