just curious why they would call a piercing weapon tendonslicer ? My ranger has his piercing Max'd and uses one quite often, but yes this screams Rogue, but I'd still wield it :)

welll....the only reason i could think of is because the effect. It decreases movement...if you had your tendon sliced you wouldn't be able to run either...lol

Getting very skeptical on this drop. I've killed this guy 8 times and no Tendonslicer. I've also killed the High Priest a few times, and no Bloodbath. I'm beginning to think my account is cursed.

I was just wondering if anyone knows if the mods are stackable? I had a +5% Backstab mod on my main and a +3% Backstab mod in my offhand, I was just wondering if they were stackable and it would give me a +8% Backstab over all?

Skill mods do not stack, at all. 1% dodge and 5% dodge would result in 5% dodge, the highest value gets used.

Lol this ain't sickening, wizzy's get mana burn. Sk's get death touch... Common now. Us rogues have to run to u and hit u, while u run with levi and nuke from a distance. Ha they should make more things like this. Heck give us a ldon aug too, one that could go into ragebringer. Now that would be ideal.

I would have to believe that this skill mod adds to whatever skill is present for backstab. Unless Verant thinks a 60rogue with many hours put into game gaining gear/AA/etc to get a chance to fight for this drop is not going to max BS skill...Rogue wep for sure, hands down. Big gratz to whoever holds this sweet piece

unfortunately your assumtions are incorrect. While indeed every level 60+ rogue will likely have their backstab skill maxed, rogues backstab skill maxes BELOW 255 (240 iirc, i haven't checked my rogues bs skill in a long time)... That means that the +10% bs modifier will allow a rogue to hit the 255 overall skill cap.. which means more damage, higher backstabs, fewer misses etc. Using your own logic of max skill(s) you might also argue that a ranger would never get this item because their piercing skill caps both below 255 and below a rogues piercing skill cap. /shrug

Chances are this will go to a rogue over a ranger for the above reason unless the rogues present already have +% BS mod main hand (vulak dagger, tunare dagger, etc...). It is a wonderful weapon to any and all who obtain it, regardless of class

ONLY way a ranger gets this is if:

a) all the rogues pass
b) no rogues present
c) you do DKP system and rogues cant afford it

Any other decision by a GL/RL is ignorant, period.

No, if all those are true, then the slicer might as well be destroyed, it's going to be as useful/less anyway. No rangar I know has that kind of piercing skill.

I realize this is an old post I am responding to. But I have a 57 Ranger with a 235 Pierce skill, 235 1hs, 235 2hs, 235 1hb. basically, I am saying You are full of it. Rangers can and should have a shot at this weapon. Of course after the Rogues, who have the BS skill. Not only is it a viable weapon for a Ranger, It also frees up a spell gem.

Hm...I was under the impression that if you skill was maxed the ability mod would do nada. If that is so this can be a ranger item as much as a rog item. If the skil mod DO count after skill is maxed then it is clarley a Rog item. Acutaly, with the lower aggro on the effect it might be even better for a ranger, no need to use mana for jolts.

I agree here too being a ranger it takes quite some mana to keep using jolt almost non-stop so this would definetly help out alot and also not worry about snare either big plus. ya sucks that it has +10 to BS and would be usuless (unless verant decided to give rangers a (lowered) Backstab skill someday in the future?)

The rogue BS skill cap is 225. Skill mods stop having an effect at 255 (there is a "hard cap"). So BS skill mod maxxes out at 14% (13.33%, actually). Also, from what I've heard from people with this, the proc is still positive aggro, even though it does counteract the snare aggro some. (i.e. snare > 50 points of aggro)

Making this item Ranger usable is just asking for an arguement. Jalero was right; unless no Rogues are present, this shouldn't go to a Ranger.

I'd let rogue take this. We rangers get Jolt, although not lure resistance, but get it nonetheless.

%to Backstab does nothing for us, with a reasonable ratio, and pretty good stats.

15 dmg piercer with a ratio such as this would be good for a rogue.

actually, (this just my opinion of course) but a sticker with a ratio/damage like that, and with skill mods like that should always go to a rogue. now of course if no rogues were present, would make an excelent agro stick for rangers to get killed with :) hehe, j/k

Wow is all I have to say, but being a ranger, and this having a skill mod to BS, it'd be tough to take this from a rogue, but then again the stats alone are justifiable enough for a ranger to use.

Most Rangers in a guild good enough to get this would have better/comporable... whilst Rogues wont because 15+ dmg pokers are hard enough to come by... much less ones with +% to BS skill.

Now, if all the rogues have Bloodbath, Khalshazar, or (doubtful...) Ifir, Dagger of Fire, THEN it would make sense for Rangers to roll.

What use do rangers have for a BS mod? What use for a 15/20 piercer do they have when they have many more options availiable for main hand? What kind of selfish Ranger would use his raid points to roll against a Rogue or 3 that could use this FAR more effectively than he ever could?
