Alchemy is currently capped at 200, but various things will modify it above that. This bag for example at a skill of 200 Alchemy will raise you to 210 (5% Modifier). You do not have to be 245 or whatever to make it since some skills (Poison, Tinkering, Alchemy) for example can not go above the 200 cap without something modifying it. In Alchemy for example we have the Grandmaster Alchemy Trophy, Phillospher's Stone (Grieg's End; still drop?), and something made by the Tinker's Geerlock something. I have seen people make this with 130 Alchemy skill, and so I think luck is also a factor. I failed at 177, but succeeded at 200. A nice item to be sure, but expensive to fail.
For the people who say you need 245+ to make a trophy they are wrong... They can be made by anyone who has 200 skill in a tradeskill and who has plat to waste or artisan seals rotting. My gnome mage got his tinkering one at 214 skill on the first try with 255 int and geerlok. My bard got hers in brewing on the 3rd try with 200 int and geerlok and 201 skill.
They are very useful, but you MUST be careful. I recently forgot to take both of my sets of shears (for making ribbons for cultural robes) out of my satchel, along with some robe components. When i logged back on, the bag, and all my stuff in it, had disappeared. About a 3k lesson (ouch).
So yes, the bag disappears when you log, along with all its contents, no matter what the contents are. I even heard of a case where a guy lost his epic in a no drop bag.
Jolum, the same fellow who vgives a no drop, non-rent bag in return for a no rent bag, also gives upgrade information for the GM trophy. In my case, it said I could upgrade my baker's spoon by combining it and a mixing spoon in an oven. Trouble is, I can't find any info on how to make/purchase a mixing spoon. And, of course, no one has heard of such a thing.
The Jeweler's eyeglasses combine with a glass shard - a common saleable item. Can anyone help with "a mixing spoon"???
I tried to upgrade the Grandmaster Brewer's Corker by trying to combine it with a corking device, as advised by Jollum, and discovered it couldn't be upgraded in a Brew Barrel. On closer reading of what Jollum said, it was "For a new and improved Grandmaster Brewer's Corker combine your old Brewer's Corker with a corking device and, voila! You have a new Grandmaster Brewer's Corker." I think it only upgrades an older version of the trophy that couldn't summon the bag. Oh well, I was intending to buy another corker so I could make more Kalidim Constitutional.
It is worth mentioning that as of last review, stats only apply from the Primary, Secondary and Ranged slots. The Ammo slot is good for showing off when you're inspected and for keeping it out of your general inventory.
so let me ask this for the posts here have me a bit confused the final bag the carryall is no-rent or am i mistaken pls tell me lol thnks. Soraksis 46 Monk Lords of Obsidian Brell That which does not KILL us only makes us STRONGER!!!!!
This is the bag summoned by one of the most versatile items in norrath, either handable for anyone without better ( I replaced my stien of moggok and after i get epic it'll replace my ORS), range slottable for those who need any of the stats(I have idol from ME so I'm happy), ammo slottable so it doesnt take up a bag spot for cha gear (for ugly ogurs), and they all have the geerlok effect for the 5% to your skill of choice...plus they summon a non lore no rent tink bag for those monks who like to ML, or for the weak casters who want to loot heavy items to sell, deposit in bank or whatever.
and now you can turn one of these bags in for essentially a no drop tink bag with .2 more weight..isn't that grand for everyone who bashes this item...don't make it....for those that want it...make one, it's not like its a monster drop (yet)
btw fishing isn't a trade skill...you can train with points all the way to 200 if you like, It took me 2 days of drinking and fishing to hit 200 on both and with agithin's fishing rod (+2% mod) and purple trickster circle fly bait (+4% mod) I haven't failed on a single blessed fishing rod in like the 20+ I've made. Also in seblis with 1 stack of bait I got 9 kunzar koi's (crucible of escape fish).
Just thought I'd share feel free to skip past my post but I love mine.
Please tell me there is a rod or something of the sort for a maxed fisherman... If there is I am going to continue my long hard work of fishing TD, OoT, & IC...but if not...what is fishing for again?
No there isn't. Fishing isn't as much a trade skill as those listed above. It is more of a supplement to trade skills. For example you have to catch Cobalt Cods and brew them into an oil to make some of the velious tailoring. Compare fishing and foraging instead, they are much alike. You can't forage a Grandmaster's edible root either, but you can forage things needed for other tradeskills.
You need a super high trade skill (245ish) to make the trophy. The trophy sits in your range slot giving you the following stat buffs: STR +10, INT +10, WIS +10, CHA +50 AND the trophy gives you +5% to the skill that got you the trophy. As a side note, you can summon these NO RENT, NO DROP 100%WR 10 slot bags.
There is no comparison to the mage spell here. The bags are just candy for getting the trophy. The bags themselves do not give the extra skill modifiers, nor do you need to summon bags at all.
well there are just a few minor reasons this bag rules a mage bag.
LORE, NO DROP, STR 10, CHA 50, INT 10, WIS 10 items, with 5% skill modifier.
but who is counting ;)
This item rox. No if and or buts. I look at the effect as being a nice little extra. Sure it would be extra kwel if the no drop was removed. But I am not complainin. I love mine.
I prolly wont use this bag much due to the possibility of losing items.
They could have made these items much more useful. They should have had the items summon a tradeskill container. that way you didnt have to carry your container around with you.
That's a reasonably good idea, however most likely not feasible; The blacksmithing one would have to summon a forge, and the pottery one would have to summon a kiln AND a pottery wheel? Not gonna happen :)
You can assume the player holding is a gnome, since the item is no drop and is summoned by a no drop tinkered item that does not even go trivial at 250. The obvious trade skill choice in this case would be a tinkering toolbox.
In fact the idea of summoning a no rent toolbox without weight reduction is interesting even if it is no drop. I like this idea more than a summoning no-drop/no-rent 100 percent weight reduction bags. I have only gotten to 173 and 53rd level. I have already done plenty to make up for weight and I never have to worry about waking up in the middle of the night and wonder if I forgot something.
Yeah it is just a game, if I lose things I would forget about it after a few days. However, the first time I put a hand full of those heavy Rebreathers in the bag and camp I will be so not happy for a few hours. :-(
Making the reduction bag droppable would be nice. Making it a toolbox would be very cool.
Actually the grandmaster items are not tinkered...they are made using mid level pottery 170ish JC and 250 of the skill of the players chosing..there are different grandmaster items for each tradeskill but they all summon the same bag...as for summoning contaners when they make a new tradeskill contaner say a Feir'Dal Fletching kit. they have to seperately program every combine that will work within that container...that would make it possible to make a pottery wheel/kiln combo in one bag however this would be so time consuming for verant that it will more than likely never happen. heck to save time they made it so that if you have a Feir'Dal fletching kit you cant even make normal arrows in it...the only combines that do work in it are the wood elf cultural ones so you have to have 2 fletching kits.
Nothing wrong with the norent tag, but I really think this should be made a tradeable bag. What harm would it do considering some classes get better summoned norent bags at early levels? This would make the clicky effect that much more useful to others. I've been asked to summon a bag a few times, and just cry when I can not. /who shaman
Skrabian - Bard in his 59th song, on Terris-Thule The Singin' Smithy (250) Human Artisan
What class can summon a better container, especially at a lower level? I believe you're mistaken bro, this thing is basically a no drop-no rent Bag of the Tinkerers. My flecthing skill is only 216, I'm working for atleast 240 before I attempt the flecther's knife grandmastery item, but, as a note, since I've never seen one, there have been agruements over wether or not this bag is No Drop on the posts below some Grandmastery items. This picture seems to prove its No Drop, but that tag does appear on a container which contains a No Drop item. Just a side note, its possible, eh? It'll be great to have a definate reply from someone who can auctally summon there things =)
2nd note: New No Rent rule (Luclin realease- present[July 1st])- If you camp or go link dead, its a disconnection. If you reconnet within 30 minutes of geting disconnected, wether it is camp or link dead, the No Rent item will NOT disappear. Beyond that, you lose it
I had a friend I met on my druid that was a young warrior on Rallos. I have him a good number of items, and he had a shaman summon him some Spirit Pouches. Being Rallos Zek server (PvP), he stripped his armor (items in armor slots or in general inventory slots, save containers and items in them, are lootable in PvP death), as well as his two 1-hand-slashing weapons (he wanted to practice 2 hand slashing too). He went link dead, and, since the new Luclin rule wasn't in effect, he lost his duel wielding weapons as well as some of his heavier (and more expensive) armor. Just a note of caution!
By the time someone has Grandmastered a skill, they have probably have had the time and cash to buy containers such as the Rallic Pak (10 slot, gaint, 85% weight reduct, Luclin Quest/Craft), Sewn Bag of Evil Eye (8 slot, large, 70% weight reduct, Lower Guk drop), Bag of the Tinkerers (10 slot, gaint, 100% weight reduct, Store Bought [~5k]), or other nice containers. Point being, the risk isn't always neccisary. BUT, when carrying heavy loot, such as Mammoth Tusks, Velium Weapons, etc, that are worth looting for a quick sell but not worth wasting weight, these bags will shine. Go link dead and can't get back on? O wells, lost 100pp at worst, lol. Get to a merchant and sell 'em? Not bad for pocket change that you would have elsewise let rot on the corpses! It may be different for many different players and characters, just my attempt to help people in general.
No rent items disappear when you are offline for more than 30 minutes. So if you go linkdead or disconnects before emptying your no rent bags, you have 30 minutes to get back in before you lose your items.
Personaly I wouldn't use this effect much. Just to carry around vendor loot. I have a very stable connection, and a good computer. That dosen't mean I've never gone LD. If I put something important in this bag and lost it...
