AsimpleHEALER
# May 25 2005 at 2:51 PM Rating: Default
Druids now have very nice heals. Level 70 OOW AA allow for druids to crit heal past 10k easily. It's now common for druids to crit heal over 4k on fast heals. The new DON focus augments are handing out IH5 like candy. There are better IH items that allow for over 40% added to heals, but the don item is for 20%. Clerics are still doing past 18K for Cheal, but this BP is nice for anyone needing mana regen. The new game today is Mana Pool. Most of the new encounters don't let you CH rotate or sit on a mount. You have to run around casting fast heals. 20 mana regen is the new cap and DON has at least 14mana regen on merchants, not to mention the gear you can find or OOW gear, heck even fabled gear has fantastic mana regen. If you haven't hit your cap then you should get this BP, then improve your mana pool.

# Mar 26 2004 at 11:55 PM Rating: Decent
Well having killed Aten numerous times on raids I have NEVER seen this. Platemail BP a few times, but this seems his/her most uber rare drop. Anyone seen it recently?

As for who deserves it most??? Good lord, all the classes that can wear it do. Realistically if the clerics in your guild don't all have FT15 then they MIGHT be awarded it first, but this thing would be a godsend to any of the classes able to wear. Miles better than ornate. Wish they regularly gave necros things with this amount of AC.

I know years ago when my guild farmed AHR, we got at least 3 or 4 to drop out of maybe 20-30 kills.

# Mar 07 2004 at 5:48 AM Rating: Good
hehe well i play a druid and for me this BP would be awesome, first its got FT7 - personally my FT is a bit low, this would help tremedously, then you have the resists, i could really use those as my resists are also a bit low (especially RP and DR) then ya got the stats, atm my wis is maxed until i work in some more AAs to raise the cap but i could use all the other stats, then we have the 65 AC - that much AC is practically unheard of for a druid and in the high end game hp/ac (and resists) own all, then we got the alteration mod - alteration is the singly most used spell type that druids use and most sensible druids specialise in it, this is a welcome addition. saying all this, this BP would be worn just as well on a cleric or shaman, all who have important roles to play in a raid, im my guild we use a dkp system so pretty much the guy who deserves it most (ie has teh most points) is gonna win this. nuff said.

PS the druids in our guild wont be getting this, not becuase they are lesser class but just because I have more DKP than they do =p

Druid-vs-cleric and the BP
# Aug 12 2003 at 2:04 PM Rating: Default
Most of what was said last was good info. I believe that putting druids in CH is great, IF they have all their AA healing done, and a fairly good size mana pool. The cleric group heals are ideal for keeping the dps group alive.
However, the cleric is a healer, as its primary role, and therefore is best at it, and has the most heal spells. Most clerics strive for FT and mana pool for CH rotation, but its even more needed in a group heal situation.
I love druids, and they have a well rounded addition to any raid, however, a cleric with all their healing AA points and some nice FT and mana pool will out last a druid healing. Its a fact and has been proven. I dont expect a cleric to be a expert nuke dealer, and i dont expect that the druid will be best at healing.
All that said, if you want to run the numbers, i have cast exceptional CH at over 27K (which i know is useless unless im healing a mob (hehe).
Supernal light heals exceptional at over 7K in 4.2 seconds.
Back to the BP, sweetness, everyine who could wear it could benefit, so it should be farmed for all of us!!
Set it straight
# Aug 12 2003 at 1:27 PM Rating: Default
Ok for all you smart people out there who have gotten it in your heads that clerics are the only ones who should be in CH Cycles. My guild is capable of much more because we do NOT waste our clerics on the ch rotation.

My guild just did AOW with two clerics.. rest of our healers were druids. Welcome to POP druid healers.

Druids with Karana's Renewal make up most of our CH rotation while paladins and clerics with group heals make up the group healers and patchers. We save more mana, and when was the last time in a rotation you had to heal for over 5k and succeded. Not very often.

Druids are one of the most underrated classes in the game and are being wasted due to bias. I can heal as well as a cleric in a cycle, and I would be hard pressed outside of the elemental planes to find a cleric healing for more than me in any chain.

That being said this item would be benificial to anyone and with DKP systems in place in most high end guilds it is a moot point arguing...
RE: Set it straight
# Oct 30 2003 at 11:14 AM Rating: Default
I also am a druid, and though it can sometimes be beneficial for druids to run the cycle in quick fights with AE, in a fight that is going to last any longer than a couple minutes a cleric is definately the way to go. True, despite thuleman's comment about a 5k HP tank, that you don't often heal for more than that in a raid situation. in a good chain heals land at a pretty high percent of hte tanks health, so though they may have 9k hps, you aren't healing htem for that much. BUT, despite the fact that our heals will be for about the same amount in a chain, Karana's Renewal costs 600 mana, Complete heal costs 400. In a long duration fight when the healers will have trouble keeping mana (which is where this item and this discussion comes into play) it is much better to have a cleric on the cycles. Druids can heal effectively in exp groups (i heal regularly in BoT and 65 LDON groups), but certainly not when a cleric is around (unless they are oom, and I take over for a bit for them to med up, which happens quite often). Clerics are the main healers, simply put. Of course that is hard to consent when there are jackasses like tremaru running around who think that because clerics are the main healers they are better than druids. Classes are balanced, in certain situations some classes are better, but in general, classes are balanced.

Uhm ..., I think you are confused. If your MT only has 5k buffed then you can heal as well as a CLR in chain, but when your MT has 9k you fall horribly short.

Clerics are main healers, whether you like that or not makes no difference. Most guilds who go to VT are on DKP and anyone who can use can bid on it, the few that are on award will not give this to a druid if there is a cleric that doesn't have one yet, or doesn't have FT15 yet. Again, whether you believe that or not makes no difference, once you go past AoW and leave Velious behind you may find out for yourself.

Spoken like a true Druid.
Misguided and dilussional with a side of typical moaning in an almost funny sense if it wasn't so sad.
I play a cleric, thanks for saving me mana so I can nuke, debuff, dot, and patch heal....o wait thats your job. While I have no complaints of having druids in the rot IF NEEDED, just be very aware that your guild is not being efficient, they are gimping out their druids real abilities and quite possibly risking a wipe do to yours/their negligence. I am the "main" healer, not you, not now, not tomorrow, not next expansion, not ever.
Now go pick up the stragglers at the zone for coth.

Tremaru, you are a roaring a__hole. No contest. Thank you for clarifing this up front.

If I wanted your blind, ignorant opinion I would have asked for it. This item has druid on it as a wearable class, and druids have JUST as much of a shot at it as you do. Now go heal the main tank while I keep the rest of the raid alive. You know, the REST of the raid? The folks who are actually doing the DPS? Feel free to keep the meat shield in place so the rest of US can finish the job. (This barb is intended for Tremaru, not GOOD clerics)

Your blatent greed and obvious lack of raw brain power do keep you at a disadvantage. Try to see how the WHOLE picture works, you worthless moron, and try to play well with others. (a skill you obviously didn't learn in grade school)(and before you attempt to flame me for not playing well with you, TRY to realize your stupidity belittles your entire class)

If I were to rate your post, I would require another catagory, something FAR below 'Brain Dead' and bordering on 'mostly decayed'.

Do you feel better for your post? Did it build up your self-worth? Now, go seek professional help. Oh, and by the way, IF you were in my guild you would NEVER recv a heal from me.

To all others who peruse this post seeking intelligent information, sorry to delay your research and waste your time with yet another post that doesn't contain critical info for you. Please resume your search and pay no attention to the fool who 'thinks' he's a cleric.

I find it funny when people are talking about items like this... Clerics Clerics Clerics... yea the clerics need ft items for CHchain... Yea clerics need ft coz they are healers...

I play a Druid supprice, and on just about every raid the clerics laugh coz they have like 40+ mana left after the mob is dead, when they are in CHchain, coz while they aint casting their ch they are getting mana from the ft 10 items and c3+ ....

When a druid is casting their spam heals we dont use a chain, we just spam them... 500mana pr spam heal with what? 3sec pause...

imo. Druid / Cleric / Shamen, doesnt matter. all 3 classes can get everything out of this item.

Druids are needed
# Jun 29 2003 at 2:45 PM Rating: Default
Ok first let me set the matter straight on druids and this BP. This is one of if not the best for a druid. Shamans and clerics can get better BP's. That said if you are in a good enough guild to be able to take this mob down then you know there is no use to arguing that this class deserves it over another. In *High End* (AKA 60+) guilds it has already been established on a point or merit system...whoever can afford it or deserves it on merit gets it. Also druid bashing from people who are level 50 and below should never happen and when it does should be ignored.

the bp :)
# Jun 16 2003 at 5:01 PM Rating: Decent
This is a great BP. For any class that can use it. Who should this go to? Whoever it would benefit the most in my opinion? Depends really. A good guild/smart guild will work in outfitting their clerics in FT gear before others simply because a CH rotation can take a lot of mana, and without clerics having good FT then the guild will not be able to last the long fights. I would assume that by the time the guild was in Vex Thal that most of their clerics would have at least some decent FT. If not than they are seriously underequipped. Basically, whoever gets this, as long as they aren't being greedy over others who could use the FT more...deserves it.

Whoever said Druids heal as well as clerics...umm no. Clerics heal specifically. Druids do not heal as well as Clerics and I think you would be hard pressed to prove that.

Druids are not useless though. In my guild druids usually do rampage healing, spot healing, and are in the cleric channel to jump in for whatever reason. Druids are not Clerics and there CH is not very good. It gets the job done but is not ideal because it generates more aggro and does not completely heal. I won't debate but Druids are not as good as healers as clerics, but Druids are important to have on raids.

I dont care about the age of the posting this is a nice tunic and I can tell most of these posts people are in very low guild the caliber of the guilds that make it in VT are on the points system and the rolling is obsolete. there class specific bashing is uncalled for. it would go to the person that could afford the points. As far as druids go they useful and have thier place just like every class. For you see if they were not useful or even *stupid* as some has put it there would be no druids over 60 because they would never get a group. imo

Anyone debating on which class will or will not get items like this (cutting edge items), are obviously not in a position to ever see the item. Once you reach this level of achievement, items are awarded to players based on merit. The question of class is not relative. If your class can use the item, and you would like the item, then your chance of getting the item is directly related to your participation in guild functions.

Anyone who posts about which class will get what, is only showing the relative low level of play which they are used to experiencing.

druids heal just as well as clerics and with aa ability's they group heal as well.as for damage lol we can nuke while controlling heals on rampage tanks so you tell me druid stacking dots for 4k and crit nuking for over 3k while healing rampage tanks i would say very valuable !! if this bp drops our druids have just as much a chance to get it as anyone else dkp point system and team work !!! haha emp,hp vex thal mobs are so easy for us i couldnt tell ya last time we lost more then 4 people on a raid other then people hitting through enrage or flipping mobs .

RE: Some of you are just plain stupid!!

What about the fact that if a cleric lets a tank get under the last 10 % of the tank's HP, he/she is asking for trouble? 100 % heal is overkill, and I dont think that a level 65 warrior wants to be at -9 hp when the clerics heal spell finally fires...

You managed to misinterpret what he was trying to say, I think. His comment that druids heal as well as clerics was directed toward the situation he described, namely healing melees who suffer incidental damage from rampage and enrage, thus liberating the clerics from such tedium so they can focus on the CH chain.

How efficient is a cleric CH chain if the clerics have to stop to keep the non-Main Tank melees alive from time to time? A lot less than it otherwise would be. You have Druids, Shamen, and even the occasional Paladin to thank for that.

To borrow a football analogy, just remember that a good quarterback will be inefficacious if his offensive line fails to cover him. Clerics are not the be-all and end-all of raid healing, although many Clerics have deluded themselves into thinking that they are.

Hi,

I laugh my *** off reading this stuff. "This class is better, that gets it, ..."

A load of bull all of it. It can be used by Cleric, Druid and Shaman. And its hell of a BP for each of them. Only a brainless dork says that some class that can use it wont get it. As for cleric meleeing... that the dumb cleric who get people killed all the time.

Druids are not useless on raids. They are actually very useful. As always, all classes are NEEDED on raids. And I'm talking about other than raiding Runnyeye. I'm talking about killing Emperor of Ssra, VT, ...

Most guilds that are truly succesful and do VT are on merit based system. Point based system sucks *** and hurts the guild.

Just my 2 druidish cp.

P.S. People have lots of opinions but.. if you're not in a guild that will do VT soon or is doing VT already... you're talking about things you dont know or understand. Sorry. :p
