We could use a 2016 verification of this older, known info:

I've read several posts where this stick is given to a pet to proc the tash. Don't do this! From my experience this thing is much to rare to waste on a pet. ;)

Good luck to you if you are after this.

Enter Old Seb, go through the doors till you come close to the water for the first time. Turn left, cross the broken bridge, to a pyramid like structure with a locked door and a moat of water in front. There are a number of frogloks of the living variety in front guarding it. It would be a good idea to kill those frogloks closest to the door even if you invised successfully that far. I read else where that it takes a rogue with 200 lock pick to open the locked door. Lacking a rogue, shrink, and shadow step across the door. There are boots usable by certain classes with cliky shadow step on them. I beleive there are potions with this effect also. Some classes have shadowstep or similar available at low levels. You may not cross the door the first time you shadow step, but eventually you will. It took me ten tries once yesterday, one try today. Probably you will land in the hallway, but you could land a little further in where there is a room with three or four mobs with pets. Thia is a part of the zone with undead ghoul guktans, their skeleton pets, and skeletons almost exclusively with an occasionally an iksar spectre. Wind around a bit till you find a room which has a walk way down the middle and bleacher like steps on both sides. There is a golem at the top center of the bleacher on both sides. Behind one of the four doors at the top of the bleachers is a smallish room which has a place holder called 'skeletal baron'. When I was trying to find Baron Yosig, this spot always popped 'skeletal baron', and this was the only mob up with that name on several clears of the skeletons and ghouls. The PH stands right at the foot of an apparent coffin. Kill 'skeletal baron' repeatedly till Baron Yosig pops. I had about ten kills to get Baron Yosig to pop once, and the pop time was about ? 20 minutes. He dropped the Journeyman's Walking Stick and a sunshard pebble.

Avoid AE spells in this area. I fired off one, and found myself dealing with shrooms on the level just above or below the undead, having been summoned by an angry shroom. I had to zone out and return due to loosing my way in the tunnels.

Great item as well!

Since we still haven't gotten that pic from Drahcir, perhaps someone else could submit an image? We also need the modern item window for this staff.

Got it for my monk...

I got this the other night for my monk, I had a Trance stick in primary and put this in Secondary. I solod 3 or 4 wolves in GD and it proc'ed once at the end of one of the fights, not sure what my dex is ATM but I think its around 140. I might try switching this to primary until it procs then bring out the Trance stick. I'ts alittle bit tougher for me to use while soloing with the low dmg, compared to the SoS that I usually have in the secondary but in groups this would be nice.

While having a proc'ing item is nice, I personally only try to get items where the proc is a benefit to me or the group I am in, such as DD or stun proc's, or the Bard Epic proc (which adds a haste element).

From the standpoint of this items proc, you can only benefit from it if you have casters in your group, since Tashani reduces the targets MR. Only they can exploit the effect this delivers.

Ideally, you want this to proc as early in the battle as possible, but since you cannot 'control' the proc, you have to take it when it comes.

Still, in the right situations or groups, this can be a beneficial proc to have go off.

not true, not true.
the proc's on your weapons work like spells and have resist checks. so a magic based proc on a weapon will less likley be resisted if you manage to proc Tashani on the mob.
For example, Copper Hammer of Striking proc's Force Shock, which has a resist check on Magic.

Being a 2HB dependant person (5 of 7 of my chars depend on 2HB and the 2 that aren't use piercing), I rarely found a need for anything but the good old staff but I've found this an excellent weapon with a much needed proc for helping to land some spells on the mobs with increased resists. There's not much worse than wasting mana on a mob who resists.

So I'm switching over my Cleric from 2HB to 1HB before it's to late so she can still skill up on things that aren't to difficult. By the time the Cleric is up in 1HB skill enough to actually hit consistantly, it'll be proc time. I'd take it for my main Druid (who still melees at 47) so I could get something for additional wis in the secondary slot so I wouldn't have to melee as much but I'd die instantly if I tried that (2HB=175 1HB=3).
great weapon!

My 45 bard had a 1hb skill of.. 0. 21 training points and half a level later of soloing it's up to ~ 14x. I fear kite mobs and when this procs I've only had one song resist. During a fight this can proc 2-7 times in main, 0-5 times in offhand.

My only complaint (not just with this item but any proc item) is that when a bard weapon procs, the cast timer window disappears. When I see the timer disappear I usually think it's a missed note (if I'm not watching the text screen) and will try and recast the song, but since it's still be cast I end up ending the song ******** up my twist rotation.

I paid 950pp in Bazaar for this and say it's worth every penny. The weapon procs very often and is unresistable; can't beat that.

Well, I was doing a little two group raid up in PoA for quest pieces and such for guildee's and our MA a lvl 60 warrior in full warlords and all that fun stuff whips out two of these bad boys. Now I knew the stats on them but I must admit I was rather ignorant to the proc. Well, I saw just what these things can do for an MA. Our rangers couldn't pull aggro of the MA for the life of them. That proc is excellent for an MA >> AS LONG AS THEY HAVE SUFFICIENT HASTE & DEX << to maintain a steady flow of strikes. Anyway, that's just what I observed during our outing in PoA. Take care.

Peace,

This staff VITAL to SKs fear kiting high-end mobs. A skilled 60 SK can solo dragons in WW with some dificulty (so can a shaman tho /shrug) but w/o one of these, it's extraordinarily difficult.

The proc is great for whomever wields it... and that's about all it's good for. In a group, it matters little WHO does uber_skill/spell_01 on mob-X, so long as it gets done. When it comes to soloing, if you use spells, this helps. I can't forsee this being anyone's primary weapon past about lvl 15 (you can buy an 11/24 for about 1/4 the price) but if you need to cast a spell, dropping the mob's MR is a good thing.

This item is good in the hands of anyone. It is a soloer's best friend. To say it is best in the hands of a shaman is unfounded, however, as would it be for me to say it is best in the hands of a shadowknight. It is best in the hands of whoever's hands are upon it.

This is one of those items every 50+ who intends to solo (monk/war/rog aside) should have in his/her inventory. I've seen entire solo-fights planned around the use of this staff.

Long ago I had written off 1hb as useless. After I got this last night for 700pp, I will have to re-evaluate that idea. Decent ratio, ok stats and... that proc. Having a proc is great on a weapon, especially when you dont normally get that spell/effect and its unresistable. Personally I think this is best served in the hands of a shaman ( yeah I'm at bit biased hehe). With a timely proc then malosi+, MR could be dropped on a mob by over 80 points. Very nice if no enchanter is around. I love proccing weapons like this and my Howling Harpoon ( procs stun, nice stats and range equippable) are a nice compliment to anyones ********

Friend of mine mentioned this to me...

one thing that get's me killed a lot as an enchanter is tashing mobs. Tash creates an incredible ammt of agro. it could be very well possible that this weapon would be great in the hands of the main tank simply because of this agro.

My thought is that it would be great for a soloing SK.
Nice Stick

Just got one of these suckers today....it is Uber, I love it. Sacrificing the wis on the paw of opolla was not bad, cuz my wis is over 200 anyway and the 5 wis loss (still being over 200 after replacement) was well worth a 9/24 weapon. Not only does it save me mana when fighting those mobs that get those small resists that u have to waste a whole other casting of a nuke just to take down (cuz I can just whack him now) it also saves me mana for having to nuke all that really annoying noob **** that aggros in zones that still have it while you med. I got jman stick after looting a Master Wu's Trance Stick that I sold for 4k, then used 500p and paw of opolla to get a jman stick and sentry bracer....a nice deal for a cleric with no weapon and still have wis....now all I have to do is get rid of that charred guardian shield I got when I was just a lil dorf and get that book of obulus.
