I've been killing the Avocets for just under 2 hours, killed about 30 and no drop. Pretty sure that qualifies for uncommon if not rare drop rating. Also this board needs an official list of how many kills equals what rarity so we can all stop guessing. Like common would be 1 in 25, uncommon 1 in 50, rare 1 in 100, ultra rare 1 in 500.

Posted: Sep 26 2002 at 1:30 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) this item is crap compared to what i had... so i just told my half-elf druid friend to loot it... he took it because he wanted it, but then tossed it because he had a black alloy medallion... so, if this WASN'T no drop, then this would be so much better because by the time you get here <as a caster> this is so old... at level 6, I had a Bone Amulet of Blade Turning <check it out>... yes, i was kinda twinked by many players on Bertoxx <hey, it's a nice server>... but I don't complain... honestly, this should be changed to magic item, and that is it.. not lore, not no drop... hell, not even magic, I change my mind... just be a regular item, then go to the tree city <or any other city> and sell these for 20pp... make mucho deniro <much cash... i don't know how to spell money in espanol>... have fun... but save these for weak fools!!!!

if you need a good wis item, get this, a gaint snake fang and a tiger skin (off a lvl 7 mob in ak anon) for a +4 +10 sv vs magic secondary item

Erm, I don't know if there is more than one Aviak Charm out there, but the one I got from an Avocet last night had the effect Extended Allication I (worn) on it:
Description:
1: Increase spell durations up to 20%
2: Restriction: Spells level 20 and lower
3: Restriction: 'Detrimental' spells only
4: Restriction: Minimum Tick Duration: 6
5: Restriction: Only applies to 'Hit Points (HP)' spells

I have the same item Darniak. The effect is wrong.
Destroyed mine a week ago, only to see it get Reagent Conservation I! Grr
Been here 2 hours killed 14 Avocets no charm!
Bad luck I guess, I got mine on the first Avocet we killed. Nice item, much better than the cloth choker I was wearing before this.

Druid or other priest type? Need a + wis item practically free. Be in South Karana and people will just let you loot this no drop item rather easily. Least on Cazic Thule you can. Might not seem like much, but a little better than some cheapo leather collar. Just my 2cp...
