I've turned in about 80 picks so far and have gotten 5 different tickets, none of which are the winning ones (the number is the same as mentioned above as of 7/15/02 on cazic-thule).
Why this is pretty much the same as Aegis of Life? I don't know about you, but even though this quest seems a little easier, I went for the Aegis of Life instead. Aegis also gives off a greater light sorce, but then again I have Breastplate of Ro, Cracked Darkwood Shield, Ghoulbane and now Aegis as greater light sorces... Hmm, I wonder why greater light sorces don't stack on each other? Hell I'm a fricken nightlight!
Do not kill Marlin, you get bad faction with the high Council of Erudin and High Guards of Erudin and he does not drop the key. Now I have to collect a million Ice Goblin Beads in Everfrost and turn them into the Magician guild leader Josper Kenshed. sigh, all this after spending 100 pp on TPs and bone chips for the Anti-Mage faction to get the skelly to give me the quest.
Since you really only have to kill one person (who is pretty tough, btw.) If you get the help of a fairly high level druid or enchanter you can get this great item at nearly any level. Faerie Dusts aren't hard to get in your late teens/early twenties and Sands of Ro can easily be bought off of Sand Giant hunters in the Oasis. All the rest of this quest is simply buying a few things and doing a lot of running around.
While it says that this can be worn on the back, and it can, the Inventory Slot section needs to be updated to show that... My Paladin has one of these, but I can't list it on my character profile on this site.
