here FIVE days now up to lev 32 ghoul only popped TWICE in 3 days, of course he did not drop shield, unbelievbale,

been here 2 days no stop racke din about 4 levs on ym classic eq toon druid, ghoul spanwed maybe 9 times only, not one shield seen
I remember in the first year of eq. My pally had this + Ghoulbane. And full valorium. + Fbss + Hooded-black cloak + Sunderfury to top it off.

LvL 40 barbarian shaman here.
I've been using this shield since lvl 30. Great shield, nice graphic, great resists.
The price on these seems to fluctuate a lot though. I've seen them going for as high as 450pp. 225pp is about average though, so the pricing is correct.

i got mine for 90pp....
I have a chance to upgrade one of my lowbies Shiny Brass Shield and can't decide whether to get this, or a Crustacean Shell Shield. I know the AC and stat buffs on the Crusty are better, but I really like the resist buffs on this one, which is why I can't decide. I can get either for about the same price, so that isn't a concern. I am upgrading a Wood Elf Ranger if that makes much of a difference.

get a clay guardian. the ac and HP will help more than the resists, at the level a ranger actually uses a shield.
When higher level, if you want a shield for resists and bashing against casters, upgrade to a sarnak battle shield.

i got this on a mid lvl guild raid in mistmoore, and i currently have it equipped on my shaman who is in the crushbone TR. this is a great SVs shield against the orc oracles, and it looks awesome too. leant it to a pally friend who needed svs and he only got DoTed once while we were in there. i would highly suggest picking one up for either a pally or shaman.

Rood Paladin Shield the SV Magic really helps and i bought it for 250 at bazaar. Better than my old Shiny Brass Shield.

I've ben Soloing and grouping in the zone for the past 4 days. Saw this guy for the first time on the right side of the pond and he had the shield out. this being the first time I've seen it out I jumped him and He went down easy. Nice stas for a mid lev char.

My brother and I were pulling to ramp when a glyphed ghoul spawned right beside lake with one. We pounced on him as soon as we spotted him. It was our 3rd day straight being there so they are not common. Nice shield though.

This is a nice shield. I'd always seen twinks running around with them before, and I was at the front of Mistmoore when i saw a glyphed ghoul with this shield on it, and it was yellow to me at 25 so i said what the hey. /g Attack a glyphed ghoul he has shield! Needless to say we killed him and I lost the roll for it. I guess you'll find this on them randomly, but they should have it equipped. I'm not sure where glyphed ghoul spawns (i thought ghouls were ghouls, not dark elves hehe), he was by the pool. Probably from a train, seeing as to how there's a train there about every 5 minutes. Man those deathly harbringers are annoying hehe.

I believe the ghouls spawn in the Grave yard and just outside the Grave Yard. Sometimes they spawn near the pond, but I've never seen one spawn there with the shield, but obviously they do on occassion spawn there with the shield.

JUst was in MM tonight and i seen one pop with it near the pool well we jumped it and after all the adds we won well gess what i lost the roll it seem i never get the rolls i like to get :) now i'm on a mission to get one of them shelds for my self :)

I just got one of these sheild's. I am a wiz and dont have any use for it..I would like to sell it but dont know what the worth is.. Could someone give me a PC on this sheild.. I am on the Xegony server my name is Aarrudyen. if your on this server give me a tell and let me know what its worth. please..Or post it here.. thank you
thew shield is not that awesome but plainly nice and for the lvls mm is intended it's even very nice. On the other hand, if you can otain the materials and a troll mastersmithy (trophee preferred) let them transfer it into hatefull/vengefull/fearfull shield. Now the stats are way up for the line of 50's. And sell it after the upgrade for big pp if you can't use it. If you got the money to spare to take the risk that is...
Slap one of these in your hand, an SSB on your head, and get a cleric to buff your magic resists, and Voila, a warrior who doesn't get charmed by every evil eye in town (at least sometimes). Magic resist is critical when fighting mobs who charm.

Do not forget the Bloodstained mantle for an extra 10 Save vs. Magic. It's cheap too. And if you're going to buy one of those, buy a splitpaw hide mask too for it's 5 magic resist. And if you're rich go ahead and buy mithril greaves and vambraces for their 5 magic resist each too. That will show those evil eyes who is boss!
I kinda want one of these cause right now i just have a Velious Round Shield..cause it looks kewl..but this shield would look kinda weird on a Dwarven Cleric(I roleplay with this char)..but still might get this til i get me CGS(Charred Guardian Shield)..

yeah what the heck is pending lore?
This is an older screenshot, it simply means its pending being lore, (i.e. they are thinking about making it lore but it isnt lore yet)
I got mine today and it is lore now.

The picture of the item and stats is outdated, the shield has been changed to Lore status. It is deffinately a good shield for paladins. The CDS is good for weaker paladins and such and is a little easier to get ahold of. Keep in mind that most paladins start using 2HS because thats what our epic is. I personally only change to 1HS if I am fighting undead or casters. The bash interupts spells and the resistances the shield adds makes this a nice choice.

Yeah i think it was a fair trade. The Noble's robes on the Saryrn server go for something like prolly 800-1200pp so you did a good deal. The Noble's robe is also nice for Enchanters as it has a 5cha boost and the resists add up nicely :)

This shield works great paired with a Ghoulbane, the extra dex helps the sword proc a lot more, plus with the undead you'll encounter, the SV vs magic, disease, and poisen really helps a paladin's defense.

Aye good point, or a Cracked Darkwood Shield so they can hit harder (9str). If I had to choose between the two, depending on what race of Paladin I chose I would probably go for the Mistmoore shield (much easier to find then then CDS). However, if I picked a High Elf Pally, I would go for STR (their STR is pretty bad, they need the help, heh). Thats just me anyway :)
Don't forget, High-elf pallies DEX sucks big time also. It's fairly easy to get STR up but it's hard to find DEX gear that does not sacrifice AC. So if you need a shield to go with your GB, this is a good choice.

your forgeting one small but very important thing....... the server you are playing on......... PvP?..... go for the DEX.... this is a good shield till you get to the planes

If this shiled didnt have dex It has good resists, thats what I would be worried about on PvP.

CDS also has 2 more AC tho, all a choice of stats in the end really.
