I cannot believe that these still sell to a vendor for 190pp. Not bad for soloing two hours in LGuk, and I was only there for the xp increase, let alone the named drops. Still, too bad that I've had to let over 6 masks rot of the Assassin since the last patch...many a rogue/bard will cringe at that thought I'm sure.
One thing I have learned about buying items is that you shouldn't buy items that are easy to upgrade.
There are natural break points in every slot for every class.
For example, Forest Loops go for 300-400PP the next upgrade to that is going to cost you over 1K PP and isn't a very earth shattering upgrade and you need several K PP to get a really nice upgrade from Forest Loops.
For Clerics this is the shoulder item equivalent. You can buy this for 250 to 400 PP and the next decent upgrade to this item is over 1K PP and once again isn't an earth shattering upgrade.
Once you know what these items are for each class you can make a very reasonably priced twink of that class that won't need an upgrade until they are in their 50s and can start to wear what drops from their kills.
I am 51 and I still wear these. I expect I will wear these until I finish my shawl quest because I can't find a good upgrade for under 5KPP (sure you can get marguinal upgrades for less but for me the next real upgrade is a matchless or peerless dragonwing mantle and they go for over 5K).
I was in the bazaar searching for some +wis shoulder items. I saw these for about 250. Well for some reason i refreshed the vendors and i saw some for 75pp!!!!! I hauled serious **** to the vendor i fear of someone else getting these great epaulets. I really didnt believe that they could be this good. Well sure enought i found the vendor in about 30 sec and got the best shoulder items i have seen for 75pp!!!!! HAAA HAAA
I was a lvl 6 when a nice magician gave me these. Now I am a 51 paly, and I still wear them....can't beat 7wis....eventually I will want more AC though...
This seems to be the uncommon drop now, while the Dark Reaver seems to be common. Done a bunch of sessions over the last couple of weeks and see the sword all the time. Definitely +7Wis still.
Oh and with my <50 Cha (Dwarf Warrior) these things would sell for 155pp to a Merchant. I couldn't believe it.
These do drop like mad when the Cav Spawns. Still +7 wis, we looted 3 tonight. Cav doesnt spawn every time though, with us, 3 times in just under 2 hours. Good fun though :)
Man these things drop like rain off cavalier in LGuk (5 in 3 hours). Wis +7, AC9. very nice item for palllies and clerics. Did away with my crested spaulders just for the wisdom boost!
LGuk Rocks BTW
Frosblade Justicehand 48 Paladin (Defender of the Realm) Bertox
This is a great item for Clerics. I got these shoulders around level 20 and at 35 i'm still wearing them. I have yet to see a shoulder item with as much wisdom (Some of the high end gear might but dunno i'm not high end yet :P)
Anyway the only thing I've seen that comes as close to these is the Coldain Prayer Shawl which i'm currently working on.. and it's not until the very last Shawl that you get the same amount of wisdom.. granted 2 less AC but all the other stats of the Shawl outweigh that 2 AC I think.
If you can get this as a Cleric I would advise that you do.
Just goofing around, I went through my inventory and saw what kind of prices I could get for my stuff from merchants. Lo and behold, with either 49 or 52 CHA I was offered 150pp for these! Of course I didn't sell them b/c they are a sweet *** item for my cleric but I was really surprised at what I could get for this from a merchant. Also, they aren't lore, so you could get a bunch and make an easy 150pp a pop for these. Just my 2cp
I am wondering if these are good for a lvl 24 cleric, and if the price is right (is it worth the price or what the price is)? I want to know if their are better ones for a cleric and what isthe price is for those? Thanks Thank you,
Not sure if there are better, I do think there is probably something alot better. However as an untwinked cleric often times left to my own devices these would be great to have even though I am far too rapidly approaching fifty and willing to purchase them! I maxed my wisdom at starting the character and still I have just over 180 wisdom and hardly any other resists. Now I am just a blue from 50, almost trying to stop leveling, and still can't find these buggers! You see them for sale cleric, buy them or if you are lucky enough to group frequently MAKE your group go with you to get YOU some things THEY will expect you to have when you are fifty.
A 3.25 spawn timer for a quest you need to kill twice? Come on verant! At least cut down on the number of placeholders!
