Sealed Letter [Letter To Ursa Tynar]  

 

I take it this item is for one of those early quests that is either broken or was never implemented that nobody bothered to get around to fixing.

During the Nitrates and the Assassin quest:

Linaya Sowlin says 'Oh thank Tunare you showed up when you did. I was at a nearby merchant house when a fellow dropped a [note] and I picked it up and read it. It talked of the [Unkempt Druids] and before I could read on, the man swiped it from my hands. I ran for dear life, for surely he would kill me for reading the note. I think I lost him in the woods but I am not sure. Please stay with me a while to be sure.'

As she describes, if you head north into the wooded area you find two unkempt preservers and an unkempt messenger, which drops this note. Give it to Gerael Woodone.

Gerael Woodone says, 'So the Unkempt Druids are alive and well. We shall keep a watchful eye out as should you. Take this for your bravery and defense of the Jaggedpine.

Your faction standing with Jaggedpine Treefolk got better.
Your faction standing with Protectors of Pine got better.
Your faction standing with QRG Protected Animals got better.
Your faction standing with Unkempt Druids got worse.
Your faction standing with Guards of Qeynos got better.

I received 4 gold and a wooden shield.

And to anyone wondering, the hermit in South Karana is Ursa Tynar. He has two wolf pups with him, and saying you wish to join the unkempt druids will make Jale Phlintoes appear. The logger Bullin Mane... I have no idea, but the way it's worded the NPC should be also in South Karana.
