got one on the MS server tonight and was wondering what its price range is?, have it at 20k atm and i'm wondering if that is too high? any ifo would be appreciated.
According to a guildie, the effect is 'must equip', and as always, effects are only clickable by the classes the item can be eqipped by. For a cheap way to test this, find black, red, green, or white ceramic bands and try to click them with a character that is not the class listed for the ring.
Bought mine on Luclin server for 22500p , and saw other in bazaar for 25k. Think the price is fair, cause shoulders with good hp abd stats are hard to get for necros, and my 7th shawl is far away =)
The item has a recommended lvl of 51, I was wondering when are you able to wear it? Like other items you can wear it when you don't meet the recommended lvl, but with lower stats. I tried to wear it with my lvl 21 necro and it won't allow me too. So if anyone under lvl 51 tried to wear this item or know what's going on, please make a post. Thank alot. Also item is now droppable and I just bought one in Druzzil Ro for 10kpp.
I use beguile undead more then I use thrall of bones even. Pop into howling stones sometime, and use beguile undead, not to have a long lasting pet, but to break rooms with. When your pet gets low on health, feign death.
Stand up, charm another mob, rinse, repeat.
Also, because dire charm has that NASTY targetting bug (where you constantly get your target is to far away, your target is not undead, you must select a target) sometimes I use beguile undead on a mob *BEFORE* trying dire charm to make sure its low enough level. I did this before they made dire charm refresh if it was to high level, but thanks to the targetting bug still being in there, it does have its advantages.
And comeon, what does the average necromancer have in his shoulder slot anyways? Barring uber equipment, and hard to obtain quest pieces such as strength of the elements or spirit wracked cord, this is a pretty inefficient armor slot for us. I love this piece.
It might be just me but it would seem that VI's designers are starting to produce more useful items these days. It is a subtle shift but seeing a Necromancer only item that finally provides hitpoints (which are often as good to a Necromancer as mana is) provides me with some hope. The other class-specific drops here all seem to take into account more 'modern' veiws of the classes as well, instead of giving Rogues Dexterity and Monks Agility and such.
Sure the click-effect isn't going to win any awards but it is still a little perk I suppose :)
The effect is the level 34 Undead Charm, not very useful when you are 50+ which you have to be to get it. At 54 you will have the Thrall of Bones which is immensly more powerful.
This is only good for charming low level undeads, but other that that it's decent stats on the shoulders!
not sure as to the lvl of mob you can charm but just think of how useful it could be: instead of having that poor monk pull your resident necro could just charm a skele and bam! instant puller. while this wouldnt be good at all in dungeons there are many uses that a low lvl pet has if you think outside the box
is that effect even usefull? what i mean is at even if you got in there and got it at lvl 50 can you use that spell to charm mobs that would be worth it? or is it deffernt then the enchanter charms that have a lvl cap? (tho all the stats and AC make it a nice armor peice)
