this is the worst post page i ever read. all you morons posting about wieght.. who gives ****** if ya dont have info on the bracer.. GO AWAY. quit wasting the rest of people times with ********
Ummm, is anyone here actually concerned about the item or how to get it. Being a dwarf warrior i could really care less about "old world" weights and all this hooplah. Does anyone have any real info on this bracer... it's badass and i'd like one :) any info would be greatly appreciated. Bulvar Biggins Dwarf Warrior Divine Union of Souls
I've always been under the assumtion that... 1 stone = 10lbs. This is because a 10pound fish weighs 1 stone, and all other weighted fish follow the same scale (14lbs = 1.4stone, etc).
Did anyone think it may just be in Kilograms? carrying 100 kilograms of wieght is damn easy, and im not exactly a weight lifter. And a 1.7kg fish is easily a meal.
I would say that an average man weights about 80kg.. Test out your theory tomorrow morning and try carrying a co-worker about your own weight or a little heavier around for a day or two and tell me if that's easy =)...
not a weight lifter either, but i DO exersise every day and still don't consider 100kg easy to lift.
These would make a great upgrade off my Ravenscale Bracers. But just like all Black Ice stuff, it's pretty heavy (imagine a 3 and a half pound bracer on your arm) Thank god for Barbarians.
I have the Sleeves, and they look like Ravenscale, kinda black chain-ish, or Blackened Alloy. Haven't seen them on other races.
Not like this bracer is going on a monk who has to watch his weight. It's 3.5 and you get +4 str from it effectivly making it weightless. Although you still have the same available weight limit open for loot, that +4 str still adds to your damage modifier. You also get the added dex for more procs. Can't scoff at 12AC unless you have something better, either.
Hehe, I was gonna say, when I read historical books or what not, adult men don't weigh anywhere near as many stone as they do pounds. I never knew exactly how many pounds pet stone before, thank you Angelsyn and Queeg (my vague memory recalls men weighing extremely few stone, around 10 or so, generally less but it has been a while). ^_^
I'm going to have to assume that EQ weights are *not* based upon the stone weight system...and I've never heard an NPC call weight by stone or lbs in game. Either game developers just assumed weight was lbs, something most Americans take for granted, or they didn't do research on stone weight and didn't think it was all that important (which would have been kinda...slow of them, considering this is a fantasy game and a certain number of players would notice the oddness). Since this is becoming more debate than actual exchange of info, I'll leave it at that.
It's very easy to explain if you want to, you can just argue the case that the gravity on Norrath is that much lower than it is on Earth, the idea of picking up something so heavy isn't too difficult to suggest then.
But in all honesty, I was just trying to correct the weight calculation descrepencies. :)
But it's NOT based on the old world "stone" It is its own entity. Unless you're telling me that these 3.5 Stone Bracers weigh in just shy of 50lbs EACH! OK, maybe if my Barbarian Rogue was the size of RODAN or something. LOL Come on.
148STR would give me a weight limit of 2072lbs! I could carry a small economy car across Norrath on my back! WEEEE....
OK, so I've figured it out, even though it is a little odd. Drumroll please.
1 EQ Wt. = 10 "Earth" Pounds.
Proof? While in Firiona Vie waiting for the boat, I caught a 17LB Fetid Bass. Weight? 1.7Wt. It was a "Feast Meal" so I'm assuming the 17lbs was all edible, or whatever. Still though, that would make these 35lbs each. OUCH. I think VI needs to rethink this idea or clear it up.
