Classes: The Bard

Bards - the jack of all trades. Each level is a new song and a new way to play. Handy with a weapon and able to wear decent armor, bards can hold their own in a fight. Plus, the ability to twist two to three songs without using mana gives the bard a magical ability like no other class.

What are the strengths and weaknesses of the bard? Can they solo, and if so how? How should they best contribute to the group? What is the best strategy to develop your bard? What skills and songs are the most important for you to master? What equipment should you be trying to get for your bard.

Post your strategies on how to best play and develop the bard and read, rate and comment on what others have to say.

Hey y'all, esp. those new to the song. In case you haven't picked up this trick on your own.

As you may have noticed, you can switch instruments in the middle of a song without causing it to stop.

This can be effective if your skill with a certain instrument class is awful, but you want to bring it up without using skill points.

Start *singing* the song (which you presumeably have better skill in) then once it sticks, switch to the instrument that you want to practice.

Now, admittedly, this only works for songs that will repeat automatically, but I am finding it usefull myself as I just got my first brass song at 18, and had a skill in brasen-instruments of twelve (one point into it when I was first allowed to learn it).

Hope this helps some,
Philo.

P.S. Don't you just love being able to sing on the boat, it makes practice so much easer than those sea-sick casters.

What I did to skill up in certain instrument skills, is to just get the song going with the instrument, and just leave my bard on doing that in the Bazaar, where your aoe dmg songs wont hurt anyone because its a non PVP zone, and the NPC's wont get affected from it too, ( hehe beats running all the wayt to the arena )and just keep doing that till the skill is up. Hehe, i got my bard's skill in brass up to 90 ( which was max at that lvl) in 3 hours of just leaving him in trader mode in bazaar.
