From my experience in guilds as a 70 necromancer i have found that on guild websites necromancer is on the medium desirability level. Meaning we beat a good couple classes out of the job but aren't considered as a key class. Our main job on a raid would be twitching the clerics and a little dps. But.... when it comes to dps wizzies kick our ***** in fast dealt dps so they are wanted more i would think hehe!!! just my 2cents

Just my little two cents worth I don't think my main or my alt would be a in a guild that is picky about class etc... as this game was given ALL classes so they should all be allowed equal access.. and if a guild doesn't want a certain class well then I don't want guild for any of my chars.

Each class can server a valuable role in a group or a raid for that matter.

But that just my two cents worth

My 2cp,....Necro's are primarily for Farming that PHAT loot for your alts and making tons of pp. Sure other classes can too but Necro can solo the entire time. Not much use in guilds other than twitching and summoning corpses on epic mobs and raids. I believe that most old time players, at some point, started and lvled a Necro for pp and farming. I know I did.....Fun to play and great gatherer, but not much in the ways of guild help if the guild is built on or ranks classes.

of course necros are wanted, find a high end guild without one,you wont. twitching is important, and we can help save raids by fd and rezzing. with our ability to crit dot we are whole lot better dps now.

Nec's are incredible DPS as well. Twitching is overrated IMO. Visit the necro class boards at eq necro index and find out just what a necro can do. ; )

First i would like to say that my time with my upper end guild has led me to believe that YES, necros are indeed needed and wanted on raids. I am generally given the clerics or enchanters to feed throughout the raid. Feeding however, is not my only ability, generally when on a raid i also will dish out around 3k per tick becuase of the various DoTs i use and them critting.(To do this i must take aggro precautions like having to FD once in a while) So overall with my experience necros are wanted on raids a great deal.
Thats my 3 cents : )
