Classes: The Enchanter

Enchanter - the game's traffic cop. When the enchanter yells stop, creatures cease what they are doing and just wait to die. A complex class, enchanters get a variety of spells as well as a pet, and can be played in a number of different ways.

What is the best way to develop and play an enchanter? What spells are most and least important? Can an enchanter be soloed, and if so how? What skills are the most important for an enchanter? How should an enchanter be played in a group?

Post your strategies on how to best play and develop the Enchanter and read, rate and comment on what others have to say.

Where did you see this listing? I don't think there is any ability by that name or that does what you describe.

There is an "upgrade" to Dire Charm but it's not the same.

Edict of Command - This ability will bind an NPC to your will, charming them until the spell wears off. This ability works on NPCs up to level 70. Rank 1 will keep the NPC charmed for 2 minutes, rank 2 for 4 minutes and rank 3 for 6 minutes.

Ahh, well .. Alla has lots of spells and effects listed that no one can use.

They could have come from the Test server, or perhaps they are NPC spells that players don't get. It could have also been a planned upgrade that never made it into the game for whatever reason. Lots of planned spells and abilities that were scrapped still show up in the spells and skills data here.

Looks like they planned on adding a lvl 55 cap upgrade to Dire Charm based on that list, but at the time they probably felt it would be too overpowering, unbalancing or unfair in the PoP era.
