It's imprecise mathematical statements like which lead to things like a Mars lander mission crashing on a moon of Jupiter. Smiley: lol

Is the drop rate going UP or DOWN?

Is .01% really what's intended? That's a tiny number, like one drop in 10,000 kills. The current drop rate is probably about 1 in 400. Guesstimate based on anecdotal reports. Changing this by 1 in 10,000 kills, either direction, will not even be noticeable. Why bother?

I'm taking a wild guess that this statement means, altho it doesn't follow logically from the language provided, that the drop rate will change from something like 1 in 400 kills to either 1 in 300 or 1 in 500 kills. That's plausible, at least.

Be nice to know which is the real thing! I guess we shall find out with fresh live anecdotal data soonish.

I was wrong, it is worse than 1/10th of a percent....It's 1/100th of 1 percent according to the patch notes...If that is correct we will not notice a difference in drop rate at all.Smiley: oyvey

Yeah, that is an absolutely insignificant increase.More like a slap in the face..Heh,1/10th of one percent increase. Thanks SOE-EQ.

Though I'm hoping Railus made a clerical error and it is a 10 % increase in drop rate. But that may be wishful thinking..

- Fixed an issue with the Welcome Screen loading up the wrong data.

So glad they got that done. Now instead of instantly closing the window the moment it pops up i will look at it for a few seconds before i close it. Glad they could fit that into the once a month patch schedule (not including hot fixes or a patch to fix a patch they botched up).

In all seriousness though im not a programer. I don't know how hard it is to copy and paste the giants and dragons event stuff back into Everquest each year. I don't know how hard it is to return npcs to previous working versions like they apparently did with Anson McBale or Researcher Stripcog.

I know that fixing one thing could break a dozen others so that stuff could be really difficult to deal with. We get a bonus patch this month with the coming expansion release too so it looks like they are really working hard. EDIT: It looks like i am wrong about that expansion release and patch.

Just logged in. I don't know about the other things but the loading screen is still not working so don't be surprised if they have an emergency patch.
.01 percent?

I wonder if they really only adjusted the drop rate by 1/100th of a percent, or meant that to be 1%. Seems like the former would be a negligible change.

So, made a decision to extend the HH event, posted it and added it to the patch notes, BUT didnt actually enable the HH mode for those zones on the live servers, well done guys.
