I think Kao should reconsider that IP ban for all of India thing.

On the 100/page view there's only 7 non spam threads including the stickies, it's pretty sad.

Might be time to unsticky the Wii number thread.

I am really really starting to hate India. By the time I got on today there were 3 full pages of spam topics from between 1 to 4 am. 50 different spammer accounts, a hundred different IP addresses. And to remove topic spam is a manual process. 3 clicks per thread, times hundreds of threads takes a few minutes.

And this isn't the only section of the forum they hit hard.

I've put in a request for some specific adjustments to the filters and spam removal pieces several months ago now, but there has not been available dev time to implement them so far. I am extremely frustrated about the situation and it is getting worse, not better.

The forum page reminds me of a bed that's been short-sheeted.

If it brings in more money than it costs, it's worth it for them. Given the nature of the spam I'd imagine there are more sources of income generated by a site hit than just legitimate business, vs. the pittance that is likely being paid.

If you spam it on dozens or hundreds of forums some people will click on it sometimes, even if by accident. And they probably make money because they're either scam sites and they make enough off of the couple of idiots or they get paid by the owners of the sites for the generated traffic and whatnot.

They actually produce high quality passports. It's now my go to passport site. Helps a lot with the human trafficking.

Ban 'em all and let God sort them out.

Looks like they are putting out a full attack. The WoW tradeskill forum got hammered and so did this one and a few others. It really sucks they def need some sort of constrain on first time thread creators.
