I don't know if anyone has played this game on the PS3, which is completely free to play.
But if you haven't and want to check it out here is a recruitment link you can use to get free stuff when you first start playing.

It is a MMOFPS in space/planets. Its connected with EvE online which is pretty cool.

Here's the link if those are interested in checking it out
https://dust514.com/recruit/SlIfJd/

WHAT WILL MY RECRUITS GET?
Once your Recruits create an account and log into DUST 514, they’ll receive a Recruit Assault Rifle and a 7-Day Active Skill Booster to help them kill and skill. And the more War Points they earn, the more Recruit gear they’ll unlock:
Earn 25,000 War Points to light enemies up with a Recruit Submachine Gun.
Earn 100,000 War Points and get a Recruit Militia Dropsuit to wear into battle.
Over 15$ in gifts for a free to play game.

Also, willing to help out all recruits with any information needed. Game currency etc.

Register link again

https://dust514.com/recruit/SlIfJd/

My ingame name is Dub You.

I am not going to get anything, mostly the same things as you if you decide to not to play. But something to kill the time. Been playing since February :p
thanks

I tried it out for about an hour or so. I like the concept, but just couldn't get into it.

Because it's a FPS that suffers from crappy frame rates, poor graphics, and ridiculous restrictions due to being a console exclusive.

Patiently waits for a PC release.

Not going to happen. The whole point of Dust being on console was to lure console FPS players into signing up for EVE Online in order to use their ships to support their character in Dust. The people who would play Dust on PC will probably already have an EVE Online account, and therefore wouldn't make CCP any profit.

Well its still a fun game notheless to kill a bit of time. Especially if you're the type of person who +1 skill points and want to have the best set up for your toon type person.

Yes, they a slow and what not with their info and releasing new content but there's more things to do than sit around and wait for it.

Besides all of the negative feedback xD If you're still interested in trying it out and getting a slight boost.

I'm aware, but there has been speculation based on certain developer comments. Not really holding my breath either way.

You need to stop posting your link or the admins will think you're a spambot. Having it twice within the first post of the thread is usually a warning flag to them.

I just didn't care for it.

I'm not big into FPS, but I do dig the sci-fi setting (Borderlands and Halo being some of the only FPS series I've played for more than a couple hours). I gave it a shot and it just wasn't for me. I don't have a specific gripe; It just didn't grab me within the first hour or so. For that matter, I never got into Planetside 2 either.

It's definitely not a casual FPS, much like EVE isn't all that much of a casual MMO.

Dying means you lose the gear you had in your loadout, and your need to buy that gear. And you die multiple times per skirmish. It's not actually that painful, but it definitely gives the game a harsher feeling.

I'm not much of an FPS player, so it was never going to appeal to me. It's not COD, and it's not trying to be. I can say that much. And I'm inclined to think that's a good thing. But I don't have enough experience with the genre in general to comment.

Thanks for the tip. The benefits might help some players overcome the incredible, bone-crushing skill point curve. That was my main problem with the game. Unlike virtually every other FPS out there, there isn't even a semblance of balance. Players with more time always have a one up and will mop the floor with a new players. I tried it several times and after emptying tens of bullets into an enemy only to have them turn and take me out almost instantly really turned me off.

EVE is the same way, with skilling that takes a long time to become competitive. Not my cup of tea.

No it doesn't. Because EVE is designed around balances between ship types and fleet combat that requires a large diversity of ships, Frigates are always relevant.

It'll take about a month to get your Frigate skills to the point where you can be competitive flying one race's frigates in either solo PVP or fleet combat.

And if you get in with a group or join a corporation you can contribute right away by tackling (keeping someone from warping away so others can take them out).

Yeah, I just meant the point where you can be generally competitive in solo/small fleet combat. About a month of general play, which is actually far faster than most MMOs.
