OK, I don't know anything for sure, but my guess is, this works similar to Taunt. It makes your agro 1 higher than whoever has the agro at that moment. So, if you have agro, it basically does nothing. Otherwise, it puts you at the top of the list (barely).

Hello again, forgot to add that for the "Terror" line of spell, there are class specific AA's that allow the terror line of spell to give you some additional melee mitigation for a short while as a recourse every time you cast the terror spell, also very useful.

Yes being first on the mobs hate list is the aim of the SK if main tank role. Confrontation of Power spell increases the hate by 2350 over time (30 sec spread iirc) in two bursts, each burst being 2350 hate. While giving an AC boost recourse for a little over a minute or so.It is very useful.
While the Terror of Rerekalen spell is an instant hate spell with a value of 4278 hate, in one burst. That hate listing (1 hate) when you click on the the spell information does not reflect the real hate value of the terror spell. As if you look at the Raw Spell Data or within Lucy buttons (to the right of the "Details" sub heading above) it is listed as 4278 hate there.
Both spell lines discussed are the SK's bread and butter hate spells and I would have both spells up and definitely so when playing the main tank role in a group etc.

Can anyone please give me some info on this.. What does hate 1 actually do I understand it allows my SK to obtain aggro making the MoB develop hate but what makes this different from let's say confrontation of power? What I'm getting from it and I may be wrong is I'm increasing my hate by 2350 with the confrontation yet only by one with the terror.. Is it a matter of spell cast time or just another quick way of gaining aggro I'm confused...

The odds of getting this question answered in a timely fashion are pretty slim because you have posted under the spell itself (not a lot of traffic viewing that).
