Bring her a Skeletal Hand (from charbone skeletons in the western and southern parts of Lake of Ill Omen), two Star Rubies (vendorbought from jewellery merchants), and Banded Gauntlets (Smithing Trivial 102, see this recipe page). I just got done with these for my 20SK on Firiona Vie - very nice upgrade for banded and probably the first piece of Dreadscale people can actually EARN. Forgive my preaching here, but too many people offer quest advice such as "d00d! go to zone and ask some ubers to kill for u and u can l00t it!", which I really hate. GO EARN YOUR GODDAMN ARMOR!!! You're supposed to be knights, not beggars! /rant off Anyhow, the skeletal hand ONLY drops off Charbone Skeletons in LOIO and possibly SONH, not Icebones as the above description shows. I hunted LOIO with two others, a 23 monk and a 25 druid, and we just beat the hell out of every skeleton around - I probably killed at least 10 of these before I got the hand. But though they con red at 18-19 to me, with this group I was able to survive and do damage toe-to-toe. Getting the 150 or so PP you'll need from the 2 star rubies is another thing (which is why I got hand at 18 but didn't get gauntlets till 20), but earning plat is always the easiest part of any quest. Just dont waste your time looking for the hand anywhere but LOIO.

um...banded is smithed, you can't normally buy it from a vendor unless someone sold it to him.

Says level 28 needed to obtain - stupid question here but does that mean I must be level 28 to get the item or is it just recommended for peeps 28+?

They are recommending that you be level 28+ to complete. You can be level 1, turn in the stuff, and get the item.

Skel fist is NOT for Monks, I have completed all shackle quests...read the quest info posted above and you will realize that the skel fist is part of this quest, not Monks shackle.

The skel fist is not used for this quest. The skel hand is. The skel fist is no drop and as i own both of these items i can testify that they are different. I do not know what hte skel fist is for but it is not for this quest.

im a level 24 warrior and i looted that skeletal hand the other day... will i be able to do this quest even tho im KoS in Cab? i was thinking that i can just get invis and go in and do this quest... possible or no?

Well you only have one hand slot so you can only use one. You give one and get one. It is 2 Wrist slots that you have, so you can get 2 Dreadscale Bracers. Hope that helps.

I have looted a skeletal hand in the Swamp of No Hope zone, off a charbone skeleton. So it's not just in the Lake zone.

Yea they do drop on Skellies in Swamp of No Hope. I just got one to drop last week, However when I was doing my DS Gaunt quest with my SK and camped these things I could not get a drop to save my life. Veriant must have fixed it in the last set of patches.

"rubies that hold stars" are star rubies, bought at the vendors in cabilis or anywhere else where expensive gems are sold. I gave mine not stacked but I have heard that stacked works also. Nice gloves for an iksar, +int for a SK is also a bonus. Don't confuse the skeletal hand with the skeletal fist, I think they look the same but I can't remember except that the ones you need are rare and the other ones drop like flies even though they may come from different mobs, I was just doing the skeleton anything slaughter until I got the right piece.

Doesn't matter if they're stacked or not, and make sure they are star rubies, not regular rubies. What are you finding to be confusing? Skeletal hand, banded gauntlets, two star rubies... thats it.

i finished the quest at lvl 19.I bought the 1st ruby but a friend of mine called alconfoe bought me the 2nd one.As for the skeletal hand,i found it on a charboned skelie with my lvl 19 22 group neer the pillers on west side of lake Omen

i did tried this quest tonight...got a skeleton hand lore item from lake of ill omen...gave that too her along with banded gaunts and 2 star rubys(non stacked) and nothing happened...any ideas? i want these gaunts...grrr

Finished the questup very easy but i used the star rubies from the vendor next to the bank put a little dent in my bank acount. But the Gaunts are nice. GL all

Skeletal hand comes rarely off charbones in the Lake. Skeletal Fist is from Warbones and is for a monk quest.
Also - I assumed that they wanted star rubies too. That seems weird to me. I'll wait til someone else can confirm it before I blow that much plat on a mistake.
