Say "rescue" to request the task and "go" to zone in.

You say, 'Hail, Firiona Vie'

Firiona Vie looks up at the citadel. 'Our [path] lies above us. We will rescue our friends who were taken from the [ship]. We shall not be defeated by [Lanys]!'

You say, 'Lanys?'

Firiona Vie cannot quite stop her hands from shaking. 'She would do to them what was done to us by Discord -- and worse. I was not broken by my captivity, but Lanys would break me with the captivity of my friends... it shall not [happen]'

You say, 'What will happen?'

Firiona Vie says 'We shall [storm] the citadel and rescue them. We have their locations. We must not [wait].'

You say, 'Why not wait?'

Firiona Vie says 'Lanys sends us onto the ice, assuring us it can bear our weight. I see the frigid waters beneath us, but every minute we debate brings my friends closer to the cold of death.'

You say, 'How shuld we storm it?'

Firiona Vie says 'We shall be the thunderheads that gather above Lanys. Our cold shall bury her in snows that pile up to the stars. First we shall [rescue] our friends. Then the storm shall begin.'

You say, 'All right, we'll rescue them...'

Firiona Vie says 'Then we shall [go].'

You have been assigned the task 'All Rivers Lead to the Sea'.

Lanys and Calix are holding Firiona's friends in the citadel, torturing and experimenting upon them. Firiona is leading the charge to save them from their fates.

This is a fairly straightforward task. Hail, follow the Quest NPCs, kill mobs to rescue an NPC, repeat until finished.

Speak with Firiona 0/1 (Arx Mentis)

You say, 'Hail, Firiona Vie'

Firiona Vie says, 'We divide here. Find the rooms on the map. I do not know what awaits us... Prepare yourselves. Adventurers, you are with me.'

Meet Firiona in the Clockwork Construction Room to look for Galeth 0/1 (Arx Mentis)

Ognit Eznertob looks around at the scattered pieces of clockworks and other constructs. 'They have already broken him... Galeth's pieces must be in here somewhere...'

Kill the tinkerers and constructs to find out what happened to Galeth 0/9 (Arx Mentis)

These mobs are splittable from each other and mezzable. They each hit for a max ~22,000. The plated constructs in particular have a lot of hitpoints.

Speak with Ognit about the pieces of Galeth's body 0/3 (Arx Mentis)

Ognit Eznertob says 'He's badly damaged, but I'll do as much as I can.'

Ognit Eznertob says 'If only I had more skill...'

Firiona Vie says 'Father!'

Speak with Galeth 0/9 (Arx Mentis)

Galeth Veredeth twists his limbs around and flexes his fingers. 'Still stiff, but what can a man with metal joints who has just been vivisected expect? I sail on, though my fingers may not close around the oar.'

Ognit Eznertob says, 'This is the best I can do with the time we have. It is quick and unstable. Please, Galeth, keep yourself together until I can do it properly...'

Firiona Vie looks at the cracks and gouges in Galeth's body. 'Father... what did they do to you? What did they do to our friends?'

Galeth Veredeth's eyes shine with their unchanging light. 'There is nothing they can do to me. I am beyond physical pain. The only pain I felt was that of seeing pain inflicted on our companions' flesh as Lanys' minions beat them and gave them over to the researchers. That was the last I saw of them, but still the pain lingers -- a feeling I have not recalled for a long time...'

Firiona Vie looks away. 'I am sorry I brought you from your home, back to a world of pain...'

Galeth Veredeth continues to look at his daughter. 'I never wished to feel such things again. The emotions had faded slowly over the years, and I was at rest. But Tunare has called us, and her will must be done. Only then may we return to her and rest in her peace.'

Ognit Eznertob looks at the ground. 'If only I were better at magic and tinkering, none of this would have happened. Things would be different.'

Firiona Vie says, 'If only so many things had happened differently... If only I had killed Lanys in Kithicor... If only we had both remained in our prisons for eternity. But the snows fall and feed the rivers that run into the sea...'

Firiona Vie says, 'We keep moving. We have no other choice. We find Thubr. Come.'

Find Thubr in the Teleporter Room 0/1 (Arx Mentis)

As you near the teleporter room, a guttural roar rips through the hallways, accompanied by the clash of steel.

Kill the guards attacking Thubr 0/3 (Arx Mentis)

These three mobs are aggro-linked and immune to all forms of crowd control. They each hit less than standard mobs for the zone (about a max ~10,000), but have a lot of hitpoints.

Speak with Thubr 0/9 (Arx Mentis)

Thubr Axebringer is covered in blood. He shakes with rage and shock as you approach him. He almost swings the sword at your head before recognizing you. 'I killed 'em, each one of 'em, and I'll kill the rest! And this time they've all earned it...'

Thubr Axebringer's eyes are clear. He is breathing hard. 'It's nearly gone... the sin, the mistake, the flesh that brought me misery on that night...' Thubr holds up his right arm. His hand is maimed and covered in blood.

Firiona Vie reaches out. 'Thubr, your hand...'

Thubr Axebringer looks at the jagged flesh. 'Sorry, Firiona, I won't be much use to ya now...'

Firiona Vie begins binding Thubr's wound. 'Do not say that... You are alive, and that is all I ask of you.'

Firiona Vie finishes binding Thubr's wound and staunching the bleeding. 'Where do these portals lead?'

Thubr Axebringer lowers the sword and holds his injured arm. 'I stepped on 'em while fighting, but nothing happened.'

Ognit Eznertob says, 'They must be controlled by a keying system.'

Galeth Veredeth says, 'Leave them be. Let us find Lyirae.'

Find Lyirae at the Feeding Chambers 0/1 (Arx Mentis)

You hear a shout from the corner of the corridor, and you find Lyirae struggling to defend herself against a massive lizard.

Kill the Atrox Lacerta 0/1 (Arx Mentis)

This mob is leashed to its spawn point and sees through invisibility. It hits for a max ~23,000; summons from 100% health; single-target rampages; and casts the 35' range PBAE "Flesh Rip" (57,000 unmitigated damage). If pulled from its spawn point, it warps back, drops all aggro, and strips its debuffs.

Speak with Lyirae 0/9 (Arx Mentis)

Lyirae Oakwynd bows her head. 'You came for me... You risked your lives. You should not have...'

Lyirae Oakwynd continues. 'It is fate that robs me of my friends... Do not let it be my own safety that does so...'

Galeth Veredeth says, 'You are a drop in the stream, Lyirae, as are we all. You cannot climb upon its banks and watch us all pass

Lyirae Oakwynd looks up. 'Galeth, you are whole! Thubr... your hand!'

Thubr Axebringer grunts, 'Lost in the stream, as Galeth might say.'

Lyirae Oakwynd says, 'Where are Dagda and Dabner? Dagda was still unconscious when they dragged us into the citadel and the guards started beating us...'

Firiona Vie says, 'We'll find them -- our friends and those responsible for their suffering. Lyirae, did you see Al`Kabor pass by here?'

Lyirae Oakwynd says, 'No... Why would he pass by if you sent him to help?'

Firiona Vie scowls. 'We must find him. He has already run off once before on this journey, and the consequences were dire. I cannot have this happen again.'

Find and speak with Al'Kabor 0/6 (Arx Mentis)

Al`Kabor nods. 'Such an unparalleled accomplishment in the magical arts -- this citadel is the apex of learning. To destroy it or ignore all that it could teach would be a shame.'

Firiona Vie's eyes are stern. 'This is not the time. Dagda and Dabner are in danger. I do not care about what you want. Your whims and intellectual curiosities threaten us all! Have you learned nothing?!'

Al`Kabor raises an eyebrow. 'Firiona, what I learn here might save everyone. You must learn to recognize your enemies. I shall remain here and study the citadel. I trust you have enough bodies and righteous anger to save Dagda and Dabner.'

Ognit Eznertob slams his staff on the floor. 'I can't believe I ever trusted you as my teacher! You... you only think of yourself! How could you put a few books and scraps of knowledge above the lives of your friends?! I'm done trying to emulate someone like you!'

Al`Kabor says calmly. 'That is smart. You were not good at it.'

Firiona Vie looks coolly at Al`Kabor. 'You have caused nothing but trouble this entire journey. You can stay here and do what you wish. Those who actually care shall save Dagda and Dabner.'

Find the Cyro Chamber 0/1 (Arx Mentis)

Once you enter the basement, you won't be able to exit it.

Kill the cyro operari 0/8 (Arx Mentis)

These mobs have low aggro and assist ranges (you can pull each of them single, except for a pair in the back of the room). Each hits for a max ~20,000; is mezzable; and casts "Thick Ice" (single-target stun + nuke for 40,000 dmg).

Speak with Dabner 0/9 (Arx Mentis)

Dabner Drednever is shivering. The blood trail beneath his nose has frozen. 'Firiona... is it you?' Dabner struggles to sit up. 'Where is Dagda?'

Dabner Drednever yells, 'Dagda!' Her skin already turning blue, Dagda lies next to Dabner, her wounded leg frozen. 'Do something! She's still breathing!'

Ognit Eznertob hastily casts a spell of warmth. The ice begins to melt, and Dagda's wounds start to bleed afresh.

Dabner Drednever begins casting the most powerful healing spells he can remember, but Dagda's wounds remain.

Dagda Icefury groans, and her eyes open halfway. Her voice is a whisper. 'Dabner, you're safe... we're all safe... safe in the warmth... just let it embrace you. Don't fear it.'

Dabner Drednever's voice quavers. 'Yes, you're safe now. Firiona is here; I'm here. We're going to get you out, back to the Swift Fin.'

Firiona Vie looks away from Dagda. 'Back to Halas, back to your home. Back to fishing, drinking, and fighting. Back to a time before I brought you to this dark place...'

Dagda Icefury clothes begin to darken with blood. Her companions can now see the cuts and slashes under her clothes, the patches of skin pierced with metal. She tries to laugh but can only sigh. 'We cannot go back... I was already too old, and now... too broken. The snow lies too deeply upon me...'

Dabner Drednever wipes away a tear and tries uselessly to stop the bleeding. 'It's not too late! We can still...'

Speak with Dabner again 0/13 (Arx Mentis)

Ognit Eznertob kneels on the other side of Dagda and tries applying pressure to her wounds. Lyirae and Firiona tend to Dagda's leg, but the dying flesh is cold to the touch.

Dabner Drednever is silent. His eyes do not leave Dagda's face. 'Dagda, you know I love you. I always have. I... can't let you die without hearing it from my lips...'

Dagda Icefury's eyes open all the way. They are bright, like a river in sunlight. 'I know... You are my brother, Dabner... and you, Ognit...' She clasps their hands. 'You know I loved you both... as family... I was your shield, and you my light...'

Dabner Drednever's tears begin falling. 'I'm sorry... I ran from you... I couldn't do more... I couldn't...'

Ognit Eznertob shouts 'Apply more pressure! Cast another spell!'

Firiona Vie shouts 'Keep talking to us, Dagda!'

Lyirae Oakwynd shouts 'Dagda, don't close your eyes! Don't!'

Thubr Axebringer shouts 'Strength! You were always the best fighter of us two!'

Galeth Veredeth says calmly, 'Dagda, the river flows, and you are a part of it. It carries you. Feel its warmth. It carries you to the sea, where we will all meet you again someday, my friend.'

Dagda Icefury's eyes struggle open. 'I... always wanted to die with a sword in my hand. But... now I have found something better... to die with my family's hands in mine...' Dagda closes her eyes.

Dabner Drednever's tears stream down his face. 'Dagda! Dagda...' He and Ognit continue holding Dagda's hands, even after her hands no longer hold theirs.

Lyirae Oakwynd shakes her head. Another lost beneath the waves...

Firiona Vie stands up. She cannot keep her vision from blurring. 'Yes, friend, someday together again in that vast sea...'

Speak with the Unseen, Unheard Helper 0/5 (Arx Mentis)

TASK LOCKS HERE

Be ready for a fight.

You read out loud the note the helper hands to you. 'Firiona, how do you feel at this moment? Have you received my gift? Do you feel the hatred? Perhaps you will when all your friends are dead -- and your family, and your people, and your god...'

You continue reading. 'You are nothing without hate. Our lives have been guided by it, shaped by it. You despise it, but it has made you. Now you shall embrace it.'

You continue reading. 'You see this man before you, unseen and unheard? He is the hatred that knocks at your heart. He is the figure that creeps up to your windows at night and raps on the panes, searching for a way inside.'

You continue reading. 'He selected the blades and the metals, made the incisions in Dagda's flesh, loosed the poisons into her body, and made her a gift for you. He can no longer speak or see, but since when does hatred rely upon the senses?'

You continue reading. 'Now I give him to you: another gift for my twin!'

Holmein the Hated appears at its location and immediately aggro's.

Kill Holmein the Hated 0/1 (Arx Mentis)

Holmein the Hated has been slain by _____!
Holmein the Hated twitches as his blood pools around him. Before he dies he dips his finger in the blood and writes, 'Citadel Apex.'

Holmein the Hated hits for a max ~24,000 and AE rampages. Every 25 seconds, he casts the spell "Tainted Blood" on a random target (targeted 15' range AE for 75,000 dmg + DOT for 8,333/tick). Every 25 seconds, he casts "Open Wound" on a random target (nuke for 61,000 dmg + debuff that increase "Tainted Blood" nuke to 105,000 dmg).

Speak with Firiona 0/9 (Arx Mentis)

Hail her until the task completes.

Firiona Vie watches Holmein until his body stops twitching and his chest stops rising. She turns to Dagda and feels the tears start to form again. Dabner is weeping. 'Lanys will die for this, just as Holmein has.'

Galeth Veredeth looks at Firiona with his unchanging eyes. 'Do not forget that you are the Champion of Balance.'

Firiona Vie's eyes are hard. 'I will not forget anything.'

Dabner Drednever's tears fall. 'We must take her back to the Swift Fin, back to Halas... We can't leave her in this place... Need to give her a funeral... a nice one, like you had, Firiona...'

Firiona Vie looks around at her companions: Dabner crying inconsolably, Lyirae staring into the distance, Thubr's wound beginning to bleed again. 'Thubr and Lyirae, take Dabner and Dagda back through the portal, to the ship. Sail back to Brother Island, away from here. That's an order!'

Ognit Eznertob says, 'Firiona?'

Firiona Vie looks at Ognit. 'You can still fight?'

Ognit Eznertob nods. 'Yes.'

Firiona Vie says, 'Good. You and Galeth are coming with me. We are bringing down the citadel -- and Lanys with it. Let us [leave].'

A chest with loot also spawns at this time. The task is repeatable with a 6-hour lockout timer from the time of request.

Yeah, I'm on FV so my group's gear is pretty good. But I think level is the biggest factor. None of these fights were tough, and I skipped most of the advise generously offered here, such as enchanter spellshields and "dotshields." Damage taken was heavily mitigated. I was concerned after reading these posts initially since a 105k nuke is almost insta-kill. Never happened. A backup healer casting an occasional group heal was all that was needed. Even with the final fight we probably could have even avoided group heals but if we had the group would have finished the fight nearly out of HPs. But certainly no frantic rush to heal casters... damage taken was never more than 20-25%.

The hardest fight, for a boxer at least, was the one with the 3 guards. We killed one of the guards but then the cleric got agro from one of the surviving pair, tank died and evac ensued. Ultimately, I would almost recommend this as a strategy for this fight. No respawns, so pull 3, focus and burn down 1, evac, rinse and repeat. Since they can't be mezzed or rooted, this is the only available form of "crowd control."

Got the mage earring and a greater briny essence and one piece of highwater. Unfortunately, this instance does not appear to provide collectibles. XP was solid for in-zone kills.

The three guards CAN be crowd controlled. We were able to mez vindex and sicarius mods (did not try the medicus). We were also able to snare/root the vindex and medicus, although the sicarius gave the cannot be rooted/snared message. Once we realized this the fight was extremely easy.

# 1: Clockwork Construction Room
- easy, tank, mezz, rinse-repeat

#2: Guards/Teleporter:
- critical
- Real Tank/Warrior: can hold aggro but damage output is very serious.
- Mage Pet: expect that potential merc healer gets aggro very soon, so prepare to offtank them with other pets (if pet classes are there) or other melee
- we had: Mage Pet: 2 mobs, Enc Pet: 1 Mob, 1 Healer-Merc + 1 Dru105 as Patch healer and 2 CasterMerc as DPS

#3: Feeding Chamber: Atrox
- that one is really nasty but easy with mage pet, as long as you stay out of range and let the pets and the caster mercs do their job. I recommend a AE-patchhealer if the toons are critical on Hitpoints and regular spamming the enc spellshield (Legion - Enchanter spell shield for Nukes - there are one for DoTs too) for the pets, if the toons have the bigger one (Shield of Consequence-row) then now it is very important (like in every fight with BIG NUKES). If you come close to Lyirae then the Atrox will jump you.
- if Mage pet uses Shieldstone Stance/Auspice of Shadows and the AA: spam Aegis of Kildrukaun and add Fortify Companion/Host in the Shell/Second Spire/Replenish Companion/Companions Blessing then the pet is a monster and it shouldnt be a problem. The same goes for the warrior if he uses Fortitude then Last Disc then Defensive Prof+Stout Defense adding the usual No Time to Bleed/Commanding Voice/Field Protector combination. Add druids Reptile-Line and the Ferocious Growth-Line and after Tash/Slow/Debuff this boy gets down even T1-Group geared

#4: Cryo Chamber
- for pet classes and lower levels than 104: expect that the cryo operari mezz/stun your pets and go after the caster mercs fast. Be far away and send casters not from the beginning with Auto Assist, use Call assist. Everything is single pullable except the exact two from the opposite side of the entrance.

#5: Holmein the Hated
This bad boy nukes he hell out of the tank. The same strat for Atrox runs also for Holmein. Only take very much care about the nukes and patch-heal properly. Spamming Kildrukaun/Host in the shell and others while the Spells Shieldstone Stance/Auspice are out of order is very recommended. Also adding to Legion of Lucem (Nuke Spell Shield) the Legion of Indagator (DoT Spell Shield) while the caster use instead of Lucem the "Shield of Consequence" helps very much! Nukes are absolute no problem except if you nuke a bit too much then you get the full load of his two spells. Enchanter forgot to renew the two Legion spells in midfight and the druid got a nuke-combo that dragged him to the 10%-limit - he has about 100k buffed. One healer merc can heal easily the mage air pet (lvl 99 with lvl 103 pet toys) as long as the Aegis/Auspice/Shieldstone is regularly spammed. If you leave that then you have a nice time patch heal the pet.
Perhaps a note for Holmein: he spawns right at the place of the Unheard/Unseen guy, so locate your crew in the back while Firiona and her guys fighting at this place and only spawn him by hailing the Unseen guy.

#6: Chest

Chest contained
- Buffer of the Quastori and it was a really big upgrade for the Enchanter with Brazen Barricade
- Quest gave 2AA, but no XP (or it didn't seem to move the xp-bar)

This are some hints especially for lower than Lvl 105 and only group geared. A earth pet and a lvl 105 mage should not have any problems tanking all this especially if the Pet-AAs are maxed up to 105. Have fun and perhaps some smaller optimizations are there from the professional players out there. I am missing a bit real help and tips for different characters here in Allah on these really critical mobs and missions if you are not so ubah-raid-equipped and used to zerg through the expansions ;)
