The Fifth Nybright Sister

Done this quest again for alts, simplified steps below:

1. Say "Claire" to a drunkard in Kelethin. (Find General Supplier < Merchant Weaolanae >)
2. Say "Mayla" to Kayla Nybright in Lesser Faydark. (SW corner of LFay)
3. Four Nybright sisters will attack you, don't kill any of them, FD or Evac or zone out to clean aggro.
4. Run back to Kayla to double check, say "Mayla" again, if no response from her, you are done.
5. Say "Mayla" to Claire Nybright in Sunrise Hills.
6. Reward < Armored Orcakar Figurine > will be in your inventory.

Completed Quest on Seventh Hammer last night. Things I found in my 5 or 6 tries are as follows:

RondorNorador and Gary168 (Their way worked for me with a few mod's or a little mixing and matching).

1: Tell a drunkard (ONLY) "Claire" Found him in NW Section (My map has no labels in this section) he hides opposite side of the tree from Plate Armor Merchant. He does roam a little, every time he went up the ramp never down +-5 min route.
Got this: a drunkard glares at you as he speaks very slowly, 'Listen -hic- here you. . . no good. . . - hic- . . . Leave me be! I have. . . -hic- . . . no idea who that may. . . may. . . -hic-. . . la. . . be. . . The only daughters -hic- I have left . . . are dead to me.'
**** If you tell him "who is Claire" it starts the Bandit Sisters Quest
I got this: a drunkard says 'How did you know my name? You must be from Felwithe. .. Excuse my condition. I am not the man I once was. I have had a [shocking experience].'

The Bandit Sisters and the Fifth Nybright Sister may have been merged at one time but they are separated today

THE FLAG YOU NEED IS THE FIRST STATEMENT (true not the brightest bulb in the box proved by the 5 or 6 tries)

2: Told Kayla "Mayla"
first few times I did this didn't have the flag from the dad and couldn't get the sisters to attack.

3: After telling Kayla - "Mayla" all 4 sisters attacked so being a Chanter I mind wiped them (46 AoE Blanket of Forgetfulness)

OOps: almost forgot i did tell Shayla "Mayla" for good measure

4: Went to Claire and skipped right to "Mayla"

5: Equiped Figurine (•Armored Orcakar Figurine) in primary slot and hailed •Celtreus Arwell to receive mask (•Visage of the Daft Trickster)
Quest: The Favor of the Orcakar Players

6: Then went straight to •Bindral Argaff [Legendary Enchanter Illusions] in POK Library next to the Chanter spells and turned in mask to get •Spell: Illusion: Daft Trickster <<you do get your mask back>>
Quest: Legendary Enchanter Illusions Level 60

Run 4 toons to do this quest on FV server today (36 BST / 36 DRU / 36 ENC / 36 MAG)

Correction on the walkthrough summary:

1. - Say "Claire" to a drunkard in Kelethin.
2. - Say "Claire" then "Mayla" to Kayla Nybright in Lesser Faydark.
3. - DO NOT kill any of the 4 attacking Nybright sisters, just run away to clean aggro. (I use Druid Evac)
4. - Run back to Nybright camp to hail Shayla Nybright.
5. - Say "Tandan" then "Mayla" to Claire Nybright in Sunrise Hills to get the reward.

There is an NPC named Claire Nybright in Sunrise Hills. She shares the same surname as a group of bandits in Lesser Faydark.

Through a very old quest, you know that the father of the Nybright bandits is "a drunkard" in Kelethin whose name is Tandan Nybright.

Find the drunkard at location 440, 630. He wanders a little.

You say, 'Who is Claire Nybright?'

a drunkard glares at you as he speaks very slowly, 'Listen -hic- here you. . . no good. . . - hic- . . . Leave me be! I have. . . -hic- . . . no idea who that may. . . may. . . -hic-. . . la. . . be. . . The only daughters -hic- I have left . . . are dead to me.'

Note that in his response, through the drunken hiccups, he makes out the name "may" "la".

Head to Lesser Faydark to the Nybright bandit camp and speak to Kayla Nybright.

You say, 'Hail, Kayla Nybright'

(no response)

You say, 'Who is Claire Nybright?'

Kayla Nybright grits her teeth, 'Claire? I have no idea who you are talking about. there are only four of us! Our father...' She interrupts herself to spit and curse his name, '...would have never named one of us Claire anyway!'

Head back to "a drunkard" in Kelethin whose name is Tandan Nybright location 440, 630.

You say, 'Hail, Tandan Nybright'

Without faction:

a drunkard says 'I may be delirious, but I can still spot an enemy of the Clerics of Tunare.'

With faction:

a drunkard says 'How did you know my name? You must be from Felwithe. .. Excuse my condition. I am not the man I once was. I have had a [shocking experience].'

You say, 'What shocking experience?'

a drunkard says 'My daughters have become bloodthirsty bandits. They went off to visit Antonica and when they returned, they became bandits. They now attack every poor traveler who happens upon them. They have disgraced the name of Nybright. Will you [hunt the Nybright Sisters] or is this not to your liking?'

You say, 'hunt the Nybright Sisters'

a drunkard says 'I am most thankful. Many adventurers would not help me with this matter. Go and seek out the Nybright sisters. I gave each of the four a personalized necklace. Return them all to me when the deeds are done. May the Tribunal watch over you.'

Head to Lesser Faydark to the Nybright bandit camp and speak to Kayla Nybright.

You say, 'Hail, Kayla Nybright'

(no response)

You say, 'Who is Mayla Nybright?'

Kayla Nybright says, Curse your tongue fool! Sisters, help!'

Kayla, Jayla, Tayla Shayla attack you. Kill them. and collect the 'Dull Pearl Necklace' four in total. They are lore and have the same name though each one from the sisters is from a different lore group. If you didnt get all four on the first go , wait for respawn and tell a sister Mayla again to have them attack you.

The blood of a Nybright sister is now on your hands.

Head back to "a drunkard" in Kelethin whose name is Tandan Nybright location 440, 630.

Give him the four sisters 'Dull Pearl Necklace'.

a drunkard says 'This is a sad day, but it was the just thing to do. The Nybright name will no longer be tarnished. Here you are, my friend. This is a bit neglected, but it is yours. My warrior days are over. Now, go. I must be alone.'

You recieve a random item.

Head to Lesser Faydark to the Nybright bandit camp and speak to Shayla Nybright.

You say, 'Hail, Shayla Nybright'

(no response)

NOTE: Although she gives no response, it may be necessary to hail her to progress the quest.

Give her the item you recieved from ' a drunkard'

Shayla Nybright says 'Thank you.'

You say, 'Hail, Shayla Nybright'

You say, 'mayla'

Shayla Nybright roars, 'Curse your tongue fool! Sisters, help!'

At this point all the Nybright sisters attack you again , either drop aggro, run away and zone. If you are a high level face away from Shayla so you dont accidently kill her.

Shayla Nybright says 'Please run. I do not wish to hurt you.'

Tayla Nybright says 'Come, sisters! A fool to test our blades upon!'

Jayla Nybright says 'Come, sisters! A fool to test our blades upon!'

Kayla Nybright says 'Come, sisters! A fool to test our blades upon!'

Return to Claire Nybright in Sunrise Hills.

You say, 'paintings' > depending on where she is at you will get 3 different responses.

Claire Nybright nods, 'Paintings, I mostly feature the work of other artists right now. I only sell works of the finest quality, so it will be a few years before any work of my own will be for sale.' She smiles, 'Hasn't deterred my spirit to keep working on 'em though!'

If you have missed a step you will get this response;

You say, 'Who is Tandan Nybright?'

Claire Nybright hangs her head down, tears welling in her eyes, 'Please, don't bring back these memories. I can't live that life anymore. I am Claire!'

If you have gotten everything correct you will get ;

You say, 'tandan'

Claire Nybright stares at you stone-faced, void of any emotion, 'So you spoke to them... You must know who I am now?'

You say, 'sisters'

Claire Nybright stares at you stone-faced, void of any emotion, 'So you spoke to them... You must know who I am now?'

You say, 'Are you Mayla Nybright?'

Claire Nybright quickly digs through her pockets and pulls out a small figurine. She glares at you, using all of her willpower to hold back tears, 'Take this, just please, do not speak of my sisters or father anymore. You have no idea what it was like, what happened to my... Mother...'

You recieve an Armored Orcakar Figurine.

Not sure how it was before, but you need to say things a little differently to "a drunkard" than this guide directs.

Instead of asking about "Claire Nybright," just ask about "Claire." Saying "Nybright" trigger him asking about how you knew his real name, not the rambling about Mayla. If you don't get him to say that, then asking about "Mayla" at the Nybright bandit camp will not get them to react.

Also, Shayla does attack now, but she says "Please run. I do not wish to hurt you." which leads me to believe you aren't supposed to kill any of them. I'm a bard, so I just faded then hailed Shayla. Went back to Claire, asked about Tandan and if she was Mayla, got the figurine.

completed, i did the nonan brothers quest and it worked for me as well, thx.

The sept.18, 2013 patch completely altered this quest. I'm working to solve it now. Any ideas?

I was unable to get the Drunkard to respond to his name (Tandan Nybright) even with Max faction. I did get him to respond to asking him about his shocking experience.

I proceeded as normal, got to the sisters, questioned them, didn't kill them, and went back to Claire.

When I asked her about Tandan Nybright, I got this:
Claire Nybright stares at you stone-faced, void of any emotion, 'So you spoke to them... You must know who I am now?'

Then I asked if she was mayla, I got normal response.

I did get the figurine. So don't panic if Drunkard does not respond to name.

No Faction for <A Drunkard> in Kelethin? Charm him and he will talk to you. Good luck!

I didn't get the "a drunkard says 'How did you know my name? You must be from Felwithe. .. Excuse my condition. I am not the man I once was. I have had a [shocking experience].'" response from "a drunkard", however, when I asked what shocking experience he continued like normal.

Also when doing the Nybright sister's in LFay they all four attacked...after a lot of trial and error I figured out to keep from killing Shayla I needed to be ducked when I asked Kayla about Claire and Mayla. This way I didnt riposte-kill everyone. The other thing (and this is what stumped me for HOURS) is that there is a flag associated with Shayla. What I did was to ask Kayla about Claire and Mayla, then after all four sister's attacked I killed the the three who weren't Shayla. I zoned into Mistmoore to clear aggro, then went back to camp and asked Shayla about Claire, then asked her about Mayla. Shayla will then say two lines at once:

"Curse your togue fool! Sisters, help!"
"Please run. I do not wish to hurt you."

After she said that I was able to go through the sequence with Claire in Sunrise Hills and get the figurine. Which then led to gettig the trickster mask with just a hail when the figurine was equipped.

First 2 times I didn't read well enough and killed all 4...
Doing it "right", I gotten something else though, trying to follow the script:
I did not see Shayla say to me to run away or run off herself(maybe if you wait long enough?), but when I killed the other 3, I just ran away out of agro range and Shayla walked back to her spawn spot, non agro.
There I tried to hail and talk, but no response
However, when I then came to Claire back in Sunrise, and said You say, 'Who is Tandan Nybright?', her response was NOT:
"Claire Nybright hangs her head down, tears welling in her eyes, 'Please, don't bring back these memories. I can't live that life anymore. I am Claire!'"
but it was:
"Claire Nybright stares at you stone-faced, void of any emotion, 'So you spoke to them... You must know who I am now?'
the rest is the same
and if you do kill Shayla her death message is unlike the other 3:
Shayla Nybright's corpse says 'Oooh.. I am sorry we had to battle. I am not like my sisters. I only wanted to live in peace..'

ok-when my next toon did it, i accidently said who is mayla to her before saying the other-- she wouldn't respond after that, but i gated and still got my figurine.

I did this quest 4 times already and it isn't working. i followed the above instructions to the letter-- of course it probably doesn't help that all four sisters attacked me each time. for some reason, the quest isn't working for me. when i ask are you mayla nybright she doesn't respond wiht anything -- just ignores me.
