Access to Solteris, the Throne of Ro, is granted after completing the following quest arc:

Solteris Access #4: Counter-Attack Solteris Access #5: Confront Emperor Zaarisz Solteris Access #5a: A City in Peril Solteris Access #6: Where There's a Will Solteris Access #7: Slay the Serpent Solteris Access #8: Stop the Ritual Solteris Access #8a: A City in Peril The 'A City in Peril' tasks ("mini-tasks") listed here are obtained by speaking with Prime Researcher Elnot Waymun after completing missions #1, 2, 5, and 8. These usually involve only turn-ins or hailing certain NPC(s) and can be done by yourself, without the aid of a group. These mini-tasks upgrade your Combine Signet Ring and allow you to request missions further along in the line of progression. **** NOTE: You must equip your ring in order for upgrades to take place. As of 29 February 2008, Prime Researcher Elnot Waymun offers an additional prompt to help guide you... You say, 'Hail, Prime Researcher Elnot Waymun' Prime Researcher Elnot Waymun says 'If you have lost your way and need [guidance] let me know ____.' Example... You say, 'guidance' Prime Researcher Elnot Waymun says 'You must return to Vizier Zio and Slay the Serpent.' Subject to a couple of limitations, the group missions can be done out of order, providing someone in your group has enough faction to request the mission. Mission #6 and #7 and #8 require that you have completed #5, in order to have acccess to Silyssar. The teleports that you use in Mission #7 and #8 are unlocked in Mission #6.. although there are ways to bypass them. Solteris Access #0: A City in Peril You say, 'Hail, Prime Researcher Elnot Waymun' Prime Researcher Elnot Waymin says 'Good day to you _____. Or as good as it can be in these [dark times].' You say, 'Dark times?' Prime Researcher Elnot Waymun says 'Do you even need to ask? You should know better than I that the skies are darkening and there is a mystery even to the wise among us. The [grave peril] that our city finds itself in must be related to the dark skies but try as I might I cannot discover the link! You say, 'Grave peril?' Prime Researcher Elnot Waymun says 'All you see around you is protected from the cold, dark sea above us by a single artifact atop the central tower that is known as the Pellarus Satum. It is this artifact that provides this protective dome of magic over our heads and in turn, through several smaller artifacts, safeguards other regions we used to oversee.' But now all of that is [failing]! You say, 'How is it failing?' Prime Researcher Elnot Waymun says 'Every day the Pellarus Satuum grows [weaker]. At first it was only the faintest darkening, but now anyone can see that the light within has dimmed and with it he protective domes have begun to fail. I just received word that fissures in the magic have started to appear in the Zhisza! Can it be too long before Katta Castrum itself is swallowed by the seas as Prexus had intended!' You say, 'Weaker?' Prime Researcher Elnot Waymun says 'No one knows why the Pellarus Satum is failing but we would not be the Combine if we did not have at least two theories being pursued! As you may know, our current location is due to a, uh, misunderstanding we had with Prexus. Some here believe that Prexus himself is the cause of our misfortune and has returned to finish his work. Our second theory is less refined. We don't know what is causing the Pellarus Satum to fail but we believe the Sphinx may hold the answer. That is the tack I wish to [pursue]. You say, 'Pursue?' Receive Combine Signet Ring. You have been assigned the task 'A City in Peril'. There is only a single step for this task: Go and speak with Associate Researcher Plik (Katta Castrum) You say, 'Hail, Associate Researcher Plik' Associate Researcher Plik says 'Ahh so Prime Resaercher Elnot sent you to speak with the sphinx about our [problem], yes? there is no 5b task, can delete the line up top: Solteris Access #5b: A City in Peril
If you did say 3-4-5-7-8 before you got ring are you screwed or will you still get credit for progression?

Is there any way to look up which quests you've completed? Been a while since I played and I know I've done a couple.

Initial Combine Signet Ring is an image of the base ring. Not the 25 or 30 ac ring floating around.
The base ring is what is received after hailing the prime researcher.

I did missions 1-3 before I said texts and got the base ring. Is there a way to update ring and get credit for those missions? Or do i need to redo them all over again now that I have the base ring?

After each mission, make sure to go back to Waymun and do task he gives you. There is a small thing to do between each mission. If you don't do these you can not get higher than mission 3.

To finish it, you hail Sodut. Then the task requires you to give the three poison sacs to him to finish it.
