I have read many post saying that everfrost is better then the commons. I have been farming these for a few days now because i want to get some plat and am interested in doing so tailoring. The real question here is where in everfrost do you hunt the spiderlings so that they go by every 10 secs or faster then you could kill them if i could get the location that would be a great help
In the newbie hunting areas, the canyons on the western side of Everfrost between the tunnel to Halas and the entrance to Blackburrow, they are plentiful and drop spiderling silks more often than anywhere else I've collected them.
Forget commonlands or any other land for that matter hunting these I got at least 1 silk per kill and I had a kill about every 10 seconds, often getting 3 to attack me at once. There may be places where a spiderling will get you more silk in a shot but they are father and fewer between. Over all if you need those spiderling silks to get your tailoring up the canyons of Everfrost are the place to harvest. There are fewer people than most other newbie zones and the canyons limit the area these travel over so you don't even need a tracker to get the most of it. You just need to learn the travel paths or spawn points. Also since they are so low in level most players quickly surpass them and head out to hunt polar bear cubs and gobos.
(ps I condone farming for skills as long as you respect the hunts of other who may need the exp, you folks farming tusks at level 40+ are just being naughty)
Level 1 shaman barb, after passing Guards (two of them) you enter ice valley then splits in two. Right n left side. After notice to many corpse lying about i took PC up the sides of the ice valley. At intersection, guard valley west valley east valley spawns will parade by you not noticing your high up alps approach. Start the spawn counting as they parade by some going west some going east. I dropped down into intersection tracking down a spiderling who would not stop. For nothing. Got into trouble with white wolf who aggro on the spot. And added my corpse to the pile. ;-)
