So, there I was backstabbing pixies for chuckles... well, I needed the dust for faction. A Brownie Outcast spawned, cast 3 spells and knocked out a 550hp Rogue running for zone. That fast, if you see one, you're probably going corpse hunting, get a loc.
Wescott Blackmist 24th (oops, 23 now) Rogue, League of People
Are you sure it was a Brownie Outcast and not a Brownie Scout? The scouts are as dangerous as English soccer fans. One killed my level 14 warrior in two casts, no punches. One killed my magician's pet (level 34 pet) fast enough that he was able to then catch me before I could make the zone and hit me twice for 91 points a pop before I got out.
You guys, some of you at least, seem to have seen these FAR to often. I spent WEEKS hunting various things in Lfay and Mistmoore, running frequently to the ranger outpost to sell and I never ever even saw one. Of course I wasn't killing tricksters and pranksters to spawn them either. I did however see many many many brownies scouts. They are a major pain in the ***** Just making sure you were not getting the two confused. Outcasts are for ranger Ivy etched leggings quest and drop named arrows. Scouts are...well what I said before.

Posted:Dec 15 2000 at 8:59 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I saw this dude last night and he conned red to me and I am lvl 34. So that particular one was at least 35 if not higher. Probably 36 or 37. Just an FYI.
this little SOB arrr i was omw to kill thislte with some friends when i bumped into this guy, he was so small i didnt even see until i was rooted and doted, he has a DD that does at least 90 and hits hard to, so i died very fast. And i was bound to qeynos to. about 3 hours later me and 2 other lvl 30 rangers were runing looking for thislte (still) when boom i got the same treatment from this little dude, my friends all fled knowing the BC rep but both of them weere doted and creeping crud hurts, he came back for me i died :)
if your looking for the arrows I suggest that u bring along at least 3 level 32 plus pcs to take these guys. had one down to 20 life and within 30 secs he was 80% and kicking butt on the 2 of us. one lvl 30 rgr and 34 druid. definitely need at least 3 lvl 30's. All I can say is nuke fast and gett a fast melee attacker to keep them off balance. Even with claws and ssom I was having problems keeping him from casting and I make very very fast atks with my wpns combo. Dot him first then nuke and have the flying ginsu making those melee atks. repaet as mny times as necessary. Oh and have an evac tp rdy just in case
I was killing this guy for the meats (10% drop). Get this at 46 he still gives fair exp and hes green to me as a Wizard. I usually loose 20% do to that nasty creeping crud. He has greater healing, DoTs and spells at his disposal. Stuns work wonders and he usually falls after 2 conflags and a stun if he doesnt heal himself. Thats over 1200hps of Damage. So don't take him lightly. He can't see through invis but will attack once you are in aggro range and is a HUGE range considering I am 13-14 levels above him. He will come running out of the woods for me no problem.
Also occasionally he will spawn nearly back to back. So invis immediately after looting him. Kill all the pranksters and tricksters. Don't Kill the Joungulers or Nobles as that will make you KoS to all faeries in general and thus become a pest to constantly kill them as they see you. And they dont like any evil charecter races - they just dont.
Casters who are in the 34th level and are doing practice research will love to buy the wings. The dusts (6 needed) are good for the simple ranger quest and faction with Clerics of Tunare, etc. The arrows don't take long to gather and if you know what your doing Wilton isnt bad to get to spawn either, in OOT.
I am a level 38 Bard and tried to solo these guys.
Charmed one away from the Tower to be sure I didn't get ganged by Two. Had my Cancel Magic Song ready in case he dropped a DoT on me. I was using Pixie Strike to Stun him just after my weapons landed a few blows.
These guys cast NASTY DoTs and have a Greater Heal.
Even with all my bardic trickery, I still ended up having to run from this guy.
There are never two spawned at the same time. They use Creeping Crud DoT, Greater Healing, Ensnaring ROots, and a 180pt fire based dd, I assume it's Combust. If you give him a little time after he spawns before attacking. he'll put up his damage shields too. So if you're meleeing, be sure to CM first, because if you're duel weilding fast weapons you'll kill yourself. If you can't Cm, and you're a melee, use 2H. He'll hit up into the 60's-70's, and has over 1k hp. He's a tough SoB. Killed my 35 Ranger friend in a matter of seconds.
I tried this little SOB. He dropped me in under 1 minute and I'm level 34. I Cancel Magiced, DOTed and went to blades. He's alot tougher than he looks. I cracked myself up when I turned to run and saw the height difference. To think something that tiny can pack that tough of a punch is unreal. Goes to show you, size means nothing in this game. Chalk that up as a learning experience.
To get them to spawn, kill pixies around the tower area. Not too difficult, however, one killed everyone in a party of 3 thirtieth level rangers. The BO's drop arrows needed for the Ranger Ivy Etched Armor Leggings quest.
