Tried her solo when my rogue was 76 or so and it was ugly. The DT did 68k damage if I remember right. Went back today solo at 93 and didnt even get below 95% health. I had healer merc up so she may have been dispelling the DT counter, but I didnt double check that. Either way, it was laughable. I did see that she cast the DT on me but saw no significant damage.
Did this today with a 90 Bard and my 70 Rogue. The Bard was able to keep the DT poison off with her cure song until the very end, but I still got my heart ; ). Incidentally, the undead form of Renux Herkanor con'd yellow to me at level 70. We burned every dps disc and aa we had, fight took just under 90 seconds.
Did this today with 78 rogue, 78 tank merc, 67 pal, 67 cleric merc, and 65 cleric.
Let the merc do all the healing while the real cleric just cast antidote on everyone. There seemed to be just enough time to hit the whole group before it killed anyone. Was a long and slow fight, but otherwise easy.
She did a frontal backstab for around 4500 when triggered. That caught me by surprise.
My friend and I each 2 boxed Renux today on CazicThule. He used his 85 necro and 79 SK, and I had my 70 rogue and 66 druid. We used the pull to the pok stone strategy. As far as my druid healing, he didn't...the best I could keep up with was just his dotting and my rogue backstabbing, and each one taking a turn zoning into pok to kill the DT. Each of my guys died once, but was not a far run to get back into the fray. The SK just kept beating Renux down.
All in all, the strategy worked and I got my drop.
Wiped 3 times and really underestimated this encounter. Had 7 people: me (78 rog) / shm (without BoN) / 77 war / 80 clr / 76 clr / 80 clr / 79 war
First time it was actually me 78 rog / 76 clr / 80 war - this was actually our best attempt as we got her to 35% - the cleric ran out of mana to group cure - Word of Vivification 1800mana per cast - ouch! (group heal/cure).
2nd time it was me 78 rog / 80 war / 80 clerc / 76 clr - Somehow the 80 clr didn't think she could get off 3 casts in time to cure the DT and 76 clr didn't have heals memmed yet as Renux was running around on the paths like a mad woman after we wiped on the 1st attempt.
3rd and final time, Renux actually reset at the dragon bone spawn point (initial encounter area where you pop her) - she conned dubious, I just had to Hail her and say "yes" to make her engage. We had the full 7 people and still could not do it - thinking we had less dps because all the clerics ran out of mana and they all had 11k+ mana. We got her to less than 40% but eventually the clerics ran out of mana.
So, i've giving this another go tonight with a shm that has Blood of Nadox (100mana per cast group cure)
This fight is all about cures. If you have a shaman with Blood of Nadox, you will win, if you don't - the cleric will most likely run out of mana casting cures every 45 seconds.
LouenMN said it best - It is imperative that your group has a shaman with Blood of Nadox or else you all will die.
75 PAL (3600ac unbuff) + 75 CLR-bot (12k mana). Puratus = the winner. one cast removed initial dot, + protected from the next cast. Unslowed, and a long fight, but finished w/cleric at 88m :) Much easier duo with SHM I'd imagine.
To effectively gank this 1.5 hit, it is imperative that you have a SHM with the spell Blood of Nadox SHM(52). Should you choose to hit Renux with more than one group, ensure that each group has a SHM that spell.
Blood of Nadox will remove the necessary poison counters on members of your group. Upon acquiring the Clockwork Poison effect, it took 3 casts to remove the effect (with Spell Haste V; cast-time was 6.4 sec vs 7.5 sec). It is recommended that the SHM be dedicated to casting BoN, and immediately upon acquiring the effect in case of fizzles and accounting for re-cast delay; Clockwork Poison will be AE'd by Renux roughly every 45 seconds. If you think you need to Panther and Slow and Malo and Cripple or do any other buffs/de-buffs, save that for another SHM without BoN. If you are the SHM, be sure to cast it 3 times, regardless of messages indicating the tank is cured- you are doing it to save the whole group.
Disinfecting Aura SHM(52) and Pureblood DRU(52)/CLR(51) are effective, but are single-target spells and still require multiple casts. Radiant/Resplendent Cure did not cure Clockwork Poison.
An ideal single-group would be composed of (at minimum), a tank, CLR, SHM (with BoN) and ROG (obviously). It doesn't hurt to bring a back-up healer (2nd SHM would be nice for Panther/slow); anyone can come along for 6th (Renux has a LOT of hp, so more dps is always nice- melee/WIZ). Pets are viable dps assistance but only if the owner has Pet Affinity, as Clockwork Poison will neutralize them as well.
Otherwise, Renux is NOT undead but is still a ROG and can dish out quite a bit of dps herself. Expect a typical, long, straight-up, toe-to-toe fight when a group has a SHM with Blood of Nadox, expect frequent wipes without it.
Bottomline: Renux's Clockwork Poison AE is not a factor to a group/raid, when you have a SHM in group casting Blood of Nadox curing everyone in their group.
Brietaii, Fateseer shaman <Rivervale Merchants Guild>, The Tribunal
Resplendent Cure only removes about 20 poison counters with a 3 min recast, but would prob help the shaman to clean group faster. Also word of vivication 69 cleric would be handy asset as it group heals and takes off poison counters.
Today, when killing Starpyre mob, after about 20 mins of fighting him (We didn't have much dps) this mob popped, it was a surprise. Killed our tank in a few hits, then ran off somewhere. We zoned to pok, got rebuffed, went in, and Yendar dropped shining metallic robe, yay.
if she drops the Smoldering Embers of Solusek couldnt you just skip Culthor since you can do these 2 parts simultaneously? have yet to kill her myself so im curious if she really drops it or not
Just did this fight. She is slowable using Balance of Discord. After malos, she resisted about 2 of each 3 casts of Balance, so expect to refresh slow often and start early.
We had some outside buffs, of course, but we did it. Wiped once because the shaman forgot to cure the AE, but just rezzed up, got buffs, and went at it again. Fight was a little over 12 minutes long and the warrior came real close to dieing at least one time.
Was fun though. Seemed a lot easier than doing it with an entire raid where you gotta worry about getting EVERYONE cure.
Tried to 1 group today, all time gear. Cleric, Druid, Shaman, Pally, 2 Rogues. Shaman could not get Slow to land and Renux at full speed took the Pally down when she was at about 90%. I think we gonna need a Chanter to Tash so the Slow will land, then plan on a long fight.
Huh? You have a time geared shammy but they can't cast Malos (lvl 65 unresistable debuff that lowers MAGIC resist (among others) by 55, which is 5 more than the top tash does)? And you, being time geared, are not aware of this spell?
