Tried this bad boy yesterday, was very messy, and didnt really get much info, but did see Zun whack a cleric for 2658 dam. was also told that he was hitting really fast
This is a long and complex fight that requires total attention. No one can go afk, not even for 10 seconds. The raid must stay focused to have any chance of victory.
Setup and strategy are key for this fight. Just as Rallos Zek in PoTactics was the gatekeeper mob keeping the undeserving out of the elemental planes, Zun`Muram is the gatekeeper keeping the undeserving out of GoD’s final zone, Tacvi.
Since you are a deserving guild, here’s a strat that we used, and it worked for us.
Basic information: You cannot hurt Zun with melee weapons or most spells. Pets can hit him. Weapon procs hit him. Wiz manaburn hits him. But the real damage comes from a mob “a maestrung chaosslayerâ€. When it pops, the enchanters charm it and use it for dps against Zun`Muram. The rest of the raid exists to keep the enchanters alive so they can do this.
The raid has two distinct phases, clearing the trash, and then killing Zun. First phase, killing trash:
The room is spawned with Zun in back, with some goats. In front are four snakes. In the first phase of the fight, your goal is clearing the room of trash so Zun is alone (almost, more later). Class setup is vital.
Warriors tank Zun in a corner, keeping his attention. If he gets loose he’ll wipe the raid fast. Every warrior must continually strive for aggro, so no matter where Zun turns, he’s on a warrior.
Clerics keep all the warriors alive. They have no responsibility for any other healing except the warriors. Keep Divine Intervention up on the warriors.
There are two jail cells by the main room; people on Zun’s aggro list get banished there. Position a rogue with high lock picking skill outside each room; their only task it keeping the cell door open. Always. Never let it close. When people are banished to the cell, they have a few seconds (5?) to leave or mobs will spawn, killing the rogue and leading to the eventual wipe of the raid. When a warrior gets banished, they run out and back to the fight, reengaging Zun.
Have a shammy with each rogue to cure the curse (RGC works) and do heals.
Pallies and SK’s offtank the snake and goat mobs, except for one goat, which is kited by a ranger (and NOT killed). The raid /assists one pally/sk and burns the snakes and goats down one by one, till only Zun and one goat are left. At that point, the raid leader orders everyone out of the room, to the back wall of the prep area. The mobs are tethered and won’t go that far. (Note – cell door rogues stay by the cell, but don’t have to keep the door open till later.) Rez the dead and rebuff. Very short afk's are ok here.
At this point, the only mobs up should be Zun and one goat (and if you are lucky, the chaosslayer). Phase two is about to start.
For this, the final phase of the raid, the strategy is similar. The warriors tank Zun in a corner, with clerics keeping them alive. Rogues keep the cell door open. Pallies / SK’s jump on any adds, with the raid tearing adds apart before they even knew they spawned. One goat is continually kited, not killed. This continues until “A Maestrung Chaosslayer†pops; that mob is your key to killing Zun.
When the chaosslayer pops, the enchanters charm it and send it against Zun. As a charmed mob, it can be healed; keep it alive or you will lose.
That’s what worked for us, refine it for your own guild’s needs and we’ll see you in Tacvi.
One question on your strategy. I was under the assumption that the Ikaav Ritualists spawn the Adds, including the Mastruq Chaosslayer. So if thats correct, killing all of the Ikaav's will mean that you will no longer get any spawned adds in the encounter.
What you seem to be saying is that as long as one of the goats are alive, adds will keep spawning. Do I have this correct? Our guild has done this encounter several times recently, but I have only seen adds spawn from the Ikaavs. We haven't killed all 4 Ikaavs yet because we were under the assumption that they were necessary for any adds, including the chaosslayer, to be spawned.
So tired of people with the info not giving the info.
Here is the basic idea.
7 mobs in the room 1 ZMTZ 2 Goats 4 Snakes
ZMTZ is immune to just about everything. Melee, spells, procs. Pet damage and Unresistable spells are the only way to hurt him.
Goats are just added fun.
Snakes spawn adds untill they are dead.
Set up 2 tank groups and place them in the NW most corner of the area in the Hall. ~one with 2 warrios 3 clerics and a bard (Zun tanks) ~one with 2 warriors 2 clerics a druid and shammy. (Goat tanks)
Form the rest of the raid best you can around the healers left ensuring your better healers are on the MA and Chanter groups.
Burn down the first 3 snakes and kill any adds that have spawned and were mezzed.*Note* Do not kill the "A mastruq Chaosslayer", more on this in a bit. Kill the 2 goats and back to the adds untill you do get that "Chaosslayer" to spawn.
Burn down the last snake and teather the room. It takes a couple of mins but agro does clear. Rezz and rebuff get clerics with mana for a LONG fight.
Once ready go back into the room that should only have 2 or possibly 3 mobs up (2 chaosslayers is ideal) and have enchanters CHARM the add and send it for DPS, haste it, buff it, heal it (the chanter pet)if they can cast a pet then they need to chain them as much as possible. Mages casting DS's on tanks and bard playing DS songs in Tank group. Once everything is looking good and he is below say 50% have SK's wizards and Necros use their unresistable damage spells (HT, MB, LB) and get out of the area.
Try and use MGB heals sparingly as this is a long fight.. CH Rot on MA and clerics spot healing those clerics and chanters and getting all others out of room would probably free up a lot of mana.
The catch 32 here is that ZMTZ banishes the tanks into the North and South jails. If they are not out of these jail rooms in under say 5 seconds a bunch of adds spawn and kill that person.(only pickable by rogues)
If the charm pet dies you're raid is all but over.
The problem we are having with going in there and clearing trash is that Zun, goats and Ikaavs are all linked, so any agro to an Ikaav to kill them and try to get a pet to spawn is agro on Zun, which means we will have Zun, 2 goats and the ikaavs on the raid along with their spawns. Is this the normal way to do the event, with all this chaos? Or do we just deal with the ikaavs long enough to mezz the pet off to the side, then rush in and kill them, then go work on the 2 goats and Zun. Or do we kill the goats, maybe just leash them the entire raid since it is timed?
Any help on strats for this event? I see where someone posted about the mob to charm, is he a random spawn or only spawn near Zun's room? Do we just clear all of that area til this mob spawns? And is he the only way to do dmg to Zun or will normal weapons and nukes work? Any adds during this fight? From what I see, which is not much, looks like we just charm the chaosslayer, then tkae him in and kill Zun, of course with just 1 dps on Zun, this seems like it would be an incredibly long event. Any help would be greatly appreciated. We will go try him in about 3 days.
Ok anyone of you out there that have killed him have any strats on doing it? We killed the goats and then rushed him. We barely got him to 97% in over 3 mins of fighting then leashed him. It seems spells were not landing, range fight not hurting and melee doing little, pets nothing. So any help on it would be nice.
We killed him the very next day. Our guild leader spent the day researching it and poof down he went. I do want to thank those of you that sent me tells last night to give me strats on this. We had already dropped him but your efforts were very nice and I thank you.
This signet has to be shown to the new NPC Hamari Nedu at Txevu entrance to open a Tacvi instance whenever you want =)
PS : Tanon says, 'Hail, Hamari Nedu' Hamari Nedu says 'Aaaaahh! You frightened me! I've spent days hiding in the rubble here waiting for someone to come. Thank Trushar it's you and not one of those monsters! I didn't know how much longer I could hold out, but I have information that may [help you] rid our island of those vile Muramites and help me get out of this cursed place.' Alehop says, 'Hail, Hamari Nedu' Hamari Nedu says 'You hold a Signet of Command! I can use the power of the signet to [open the way] for you to the upper reaches of the temple once you are prepared to face the Tunat'Muram.' Alehop says, 'open the way' Hamari Nedu says 'So be it. There is a construct nearby that will bring you to the seat of the slayer himself. May Trushar's blessing infuse your swords with the strength to cleanse this place of the Muramite invaders!' The direction to the entry to your expedition has been marked on your compass.

He didnt go down on RZ server, to date only 3 guilds server wide droped him so far Arch Oversears being the first who acomplsihed this feat nearly amonth before Cestus Dei did then followed by Darkwind. Killing him gains acsess to Tcavi. he wont go down on RZ server for awhile reason vbeing its a PvP server and its harder to progress on PvP servers, I play on VZ myself so I know, though RZ will probly be thee frist PvP server to drop him as there top guild is the farthest progression wise of PvP servers and also was the first of PvP servers to complete PoP, followed by Pandemonium of TZ then Defiant of VZ only days later.

wrong you dont need Zun for Tacvi you need the HP and MC. Circle of Eternity was in Tacvi about a week before they killed Zun because CD always had him dead. Zun just sits in front of Tacvi so technically yes if he's up you need to kill him to get there but no he is not required. MC and HP unlock his door which Tacvi is behind.
