Smithed Armor Step XV.
Different materials can make for sturdier armor. Stronger metal based armor can be made using osmium ore. You will need to use purified coal to work with osmium.
Chain and plate armor templates are created using
| the same materials. Many of the metals may seem too soft or too brittle to be useful, but metal tempering chemicals can be used to adjust the nature of the metal so that it can be shaped. This can make brittle material more malleable, or make soft metal have the hardness necessary to protect. So
|
| with the appropriate amount of ore, heat the metal with the coal and mix in the metal tempering chemicals. While it is still hot shape it appropriate to either a chain template pattern or plate template mold.
For wrist and hand pieces, you will need one piece of ore. Boot, helm and arm
| pieces will need twice that, while leg and chest pieces will need three times that of wrist and hand.
