What is the going rate for this item these days? I saw it for just 30pp in the bazaar last nite, and being the shopaholic I am, I rushed over and bought one to replace my Shroud of Nature (same WIS, but more AC, STR, and STA).

this wouldbe a nice upgrade to my cured tizmark surcoat im wearing now. 1 less ac on this but the extra stats on it would more than make up for that.Plus it's much cheaper than the tigeraptor tunic which has comparable stats.

My 49th Pally just got this on Zeb server for 250plat. I had on a CGBP, yes the AC is 2 lower, but damn the stat bonus's rock !! I don't have SoL or PoP Loaded (have them but need to upgrade computer) so I can't go and "buy" a toon at bazaar.

Price way out of date, hehe, I play on Sol Ro server, and it's currently ranging from 750pp-1k in the Bazaar. It's come down quite a bit.

...don't lie, everyone wants to look good, and for the most part, at the expence of some very nice stats. I was just wondering what the graphic is on this piece of kit, I gather from the name and previous posts I've read that it has a leather graphic, but what colour is it? Brown? Black?? Could someone help with this?

Thanks

"Why do they have Braille on the drive-up ATM machines?"

2 reasons that I know:
- Because folks who can see well enough to drive may not see well enough to read. For example: street signs are far away, and ATM machines must be close to be used.
- Blind (or poorly-sighted) person sits in the back seat, driver side. Driver pulls up so passenger can reach the machine.

You'd figure they could jazz the looks of this thing up like they did with the tizzy gear on the old graphics. but alas, my druid is forced to look like a leather wearing newb forever....

Acrylia Reinforced is made using the tailoring skill.
www.eqtraders.com is probably the BEST online resource for trade skill information, take a look there under the recipes section.

Hope this helps :)

RE: Question
# Apr 17 2002 at 2:12 AM Rating: Decent
Of course it's good. You just have to weigh in if the stats are better than the AC. This is a REALLY good tunic of BST/MNK/DRU cause of the lightweight, good ac, and wis (str for monk)

Against a Ry'Gorr you get 6wis, 10sta, and a crappy 0.3 weight and lose 4AC, 5poisonresist and 20mana. I'd say pass on it as a Ranger. Plus, look at that price! Cripes... this is a good 10x more expensive than Ry'Gorr. If you have 5k lying around, try to get Barbed Ringmail or something like that.

By the time a monk is able to collect the items to make one of these, and gets a high enough tailoring skill to succeed, he/she should have already done the quests for the Robe of the Lost Circle. And the RotLC is a good 25% better than the Acrylia Reinforced Tunic (RotLC is also ~20% better than the BPS tunic too.)

Yeah, but by the time some higher level person gets bored, and decides to make a monk, druid, beastlord, or shammy, the 2kpp these sell for is a drop in the bucket, and lvl 1 monkee goes running around in his acrylia reinforced, with his fist of rock and stave of shielding.

Come on, this game is all about twinking alts now. JK

But seriously, this is great twink gear, and good for lots of non-twinks as well.

Im tired of wearing robes. If you dont want to wear robes anymore, this is still very nice Equipment. My 51 monk just got one.

The only reason i'll be doing the RotLC and RoWF is for the epic.
RE: Monks & ART
# Feb 11 2002 at 11:56 AM Rating: Decent
Yeah, Robe of the Lost Circle is a better item. There is no argument about that. The problem with your logic is that unless you don't want your epic, you're going to need to replace the robe. Remember that your RoLC gets turned in for the Robe of the Whistling Fists which gets turned in for the Celestial Fists :p I'm wearing my RoLC at 51, but won't be for very long. This is one possible alternative.
RE: Monks & ART

that may be true, however some ppl collect things to sell: since its not nodrop, and this would sell for a lot.
Hello ???

Has everyone lost their minds? Sure this is good for druids, beastlords, etc, but how about us mid - level monks? Being a stamina freak and previously wearing a foremans tunic, I can tell you this was a sweet upgrade. I plan on wearing mine till I can save the pp (or get for myself) a fungi tunic. The low weight of this item is great, and the 10 str and sta don't suck at all. The wis is just an added bonus <grin> to make me a wise old monk. So all you young grasshoppahs out there, if you get a chance at this item, dont pass it up =) I mean, look...IMO this is as good if not better than the first set of planar armor most monks get (Shiverback)

Success rates
# Feb 06 2002 at 11:16 AM Rating: Decent
Well even though my tailoring skill is just 159 I have had success making this tunic (and legs and boots) so far. The bricks used in the boning seem to drop just fine, it is the flawless hides that are hard to get. Very low drop rate on those.
On the other hand, the acrylia studded stuff is ridiculous in my opinion. The drop rates on the acyrlia pieces is practically non-existant. In general the grimling laborer who spawns every 12 minutes is the only reliable source for these pieces. Then coupled with a stupidly low success rate on making the pieces into bits and then into studs (my Blacksmithing skill is 189) your chances of making the uber acrylia studded cloak are practically non-existant (Trivial supposedly at 186 I think).
In any case, this reinforced stuff is quite nice for my lvl 50 monk I think and well worth trying.
they nerffed the ore
# Feb 06 2002 at 7:17 AM Rating: Default
well if you want any of this armor or the other armors, or if you want to use acrylia for quests or 4 other trade skills.. BEND OVER verant NERFFED x 2 the ore drops or should i say x3 sinse they only dropped to start with in one zone off a max of 30 possable mobs.at the last fan fair . they admitted that the ore drop was nerffed then nerffed again by someone else but they would look into it.. if you have played this game for any amount of time you know thats V.I. speak for it will never be fixxed and never really looked at untill we find ourselves with nothing else to do.
this ore is used in smithing, fletching, tinkering, tailoring, pottery and is needed for some of the new luclin quests..why they nerfed the drop rate to what it now is....is sooo like them,

Let me get this straight. You want to wear a 14ac chest piece on a paladin? Either you are such a low level that you would not be able to afford this, or even the components, or you should have better.

This item seems to be almost specifically designed for druids. The rest of the wisdom casting types can get the same wisdom off a seb scale coat, and 4 less strength and 10 less stamina is no big deal for a pure wis caster. For hybrid (pally) the 8 better ac makes seb scale a better pick. The seb scale has ac22, 6wis/str/cha and a few minor saves. It also can be purchased easily in EC, on my server (rodcet nife) for less than 3kpp (I paid 1700pp for mine).

The only other class i can see wanting this is large race shamans, as they cannot wear sebilite scale. However, since a lot of shammies try to melee some, this still has kind of low ac for them.

But for druids, this seems really VERY nice. Druids don't melee much, and since they are limited to leather class armor, the ac on this is as good as most they can wear anyhow. The strength is great, especially for Wood Elf druids.
Only downside is this is not wearable by halflings, so the market will be wood elf and human druids, and a few shammies who don't melee much.

This would also be excellent armor for those beastlords out there (seeing as they're restricted to leather like the druids) although I think for a chest piece, Id rather have a treeweave for the better AC.

I have friends who have spent hundreds of hours and tens of thousands of plat to get their skill up high enough to be able to make this.

Be preparared.
RE: Skills

If you are planning on learning tailoring for one set of armor, my advice to you is: Dont! Much, much, much, much, much faster to kill orc pawns and save the copper off their corpses till you get a few kpp to buy a set of this than it is to train the skill up high enough to make this stuff. OK, a slight exaggeration (though not much), but seriously it takes ALOT of hours to get tailoring this high.
RE: Skills
# Jul 09 2002 at 9:40 AM Rating: Decent
Not much of an exaggeration at all. To get your tailoring up to where you can reliably succeed at these, denmother (www.eqtraders.com) estimates will require roughly 200000pp (Yes, 200kp) _and_ about three months of real world time concentrating on absolutely nothing except tailoring.

Or you could use those same resources to buy a whole set of this, a fungi, a full set of resist gear, gain a few levels, and still have money and time left over.
about time.
# Feb 05 2002 at 9:21 PM Rating: Decent
I say it is about time verant has made it so that armor you can make is worth makeing. (wu gear not withstanding) im glad to see they are actually setting stats so that peeps will actually try and learn skills. but hey this is MHO only.
What are Components?

Hey there. If anyone knows the components needed please share =)

This is awsome for druids and any wisdom class who cant wear plate.

Go to www.eqtraders.com and click on the Recipes link, then the Luclin link. Basically you need:
- 4 acrylia bonings (farm small bricks of acrylia from the grimling caves in the Tenebrous Mtns)
- A flawless rockhopper hide (Dawnshroud Peaks or Scarlet Desert)
- Paeala bark tanin (paeala can be bought in Katta)
- Pattern
This trivials at 245 tailoring.

And well worth all the effort you have to put into making it!!

I'd be truly interested on the prices being asked for this item. It should be ridiculously high.
RE: What are Components?
# Dec 29 2002 at 2:32 PM Rating: Decent
Quick question, would it be possible to take a few large bricks of acrylia and break them down to small bricks using the normal means of making a smaller brick of an ore?

Nevermind the question, I remembered to check eqtraders, the recepie is there ^.^;;
