Shadows of Luclin
It appears that the drop rate for the Elder Wolf Hide has been reduced significantly. They have also added a random spawn that can see through hide/invis which has not been there before. I went afk for a few minutes while hidden and it cost me. )
This is now a long and even more dangerous camp. I would say that these might be more valuable than 3k now.

Invised my druid, went inside the cave,targeted Ghowliz, ran near entrance, snared him, ran outside and kited him. Never got agroed by the wolves inside although I did have to clear the Guardians at entrance first. Hope this helps.

Been camping the cave for 3 days, and have not seen the shoulders once! The pack leader shows up 4 out of every 5 times, and when it is Growliks, he has only dropped the sword! And yes it is 20 minutes to the second on the spawn rate.
Wish the my Paladin friend wanted something easier to get. Get rid of the common drop note!

OK after 6 hours of camping Growliks heres what I have found.
He spawns at the back of the Sonic wolf caves.
The Packleader is his place holder.
The spawn cycle is 20mins.
Multiple Growliks can spawn after each other ( I had 3 in a row ).
The sonic wolfs are around level 25.
Growliks is around level 30.
Unless you are 45 or above the camp can be tough because you really need to clear the caves to get to the back. If you just invs to his spot you will get agro from the other wolfs.
His common drop is the Elder wolf Jawbone ( not a bad 1hs 11 / 29 with some nice mods ).
His rare drop is the rather nice shoulder item. I had this drop about 1 in 6 kills of Growliks.

I just got it tonite, it dropped off Glowtik in Hollowshade Moor, The Sonic Wolf Packleader is the Placeholder for him, he usually spawns 20-30 minutes after the packleader is killed, they are both in the Sonic Wolf Cave near Grimling Forest. 2 Items drop that ive seen ( Both off Glowtik ) the Wolfbone Jaw (11/29 primary 1hs) and of course the Elder Wolf Hide, Other cool items ive seen drop in this zone is the Brain of the Beaked Bear ( AC4 WIS4 Mana Regen 4 and some other Stats drops off Prince Owlbear that wonders around in hollowshade) and the Horned beetle mask ( awesome stats mask with 6 charges of ultravision and a weight of 0.1 great for the human monk ) thats all the info i got on hollowshade!

what is the level of this mob? and any type of info on it such as class and capabilities would be helpful.

E-Bay has been deleting EQ auctions for almost a year. Horses cost 8000 to 115000 in Luclin. You don't get plat like that from just looting the plat from regular kills. You get it by selling the items you get to other players. This is Verants idea of an economy.
Aside from another 47+sk, who wouldnt be intimidated by a 47sk?

I took my monk in there and cleared the cave. This guy finally showed up. I killed him easilly and he droped the hide but it didnt have stats on it. Dont know what thats about. He also droped an Elder wolf jawbone : 11/29 1hs +2dex,str,svmag,svfire -20cha
Wish the hide i got from him had stats though :(

You probably looted a regular Sonic Dog Hide and not the actual Elder wolf hide...unless Verant totally nerfed this item (would be a shame) the sword drops EVERY time just about....

The mob you killed is only 1 of the two named wolves. There is a named wanderer and I believe he is a random spawn which makes it really hard to find.
