I just picked one up for 250p, actually great price for it...worth probably closer to 1kp as comparible to spiderfur, which i wear.....2 str not as much as 7 str but 2 agility is nice. great monk item since weight an ac and agility, rogue, sk, pally too...look for it..not many know about it..can be a great steal. probably going to sell it for 600 p...should sell quickly in ec tunnel....come one come all, Balderson thurlgod has a bag of items at torch 1. :-)

Drops in Velketor's Labyrinth, I believe. There's also a really nice cloak made of spider fur. Apparently, spider fur is super light, and warm to boot. :)

Nah, you just clean out all the guts, polish the shell, and put a hinge and clasp on the sections so you can fasten it on :)

It drops in Mons Letalis off of the...imagine this...the Hive Mistress..
Usually she comes with another bugger called a Greater Horror. Both are melee only and can hit for 120+
They both conned blue to 46 and still blue at 49. One of the times we killed her, we had a 40 chanter with us and she was able to mezz the Hivemistress but not the horror.

Who or what drops this?

My guess would be the Hive Mistress. Her spawn is labled on EQAtlas.com.
Kinda weak on the stats but there aren't many 10ac neck pieces out there, especially ones wearable by all but true casters...with a weight of 1.0 even monks can't scoff too much at it. Not sure of the level you would need to get it though, as Mons Letalis is harsh, so I am told, but tis not no-drop, so come on twinkage! ;)

this graphic is what was used for rhino hooves in OT I think... man this is just WEIRD
Ya it was used as the graphic for the hoofs..... doesnt look too much like a hoof now does it.....
