For everyone who's ******** about these quests, think about what the end result might be....
Remember when the Iksar ShadowKnight Khukris were pieces of crap... then all of a sudden, we had the Greenmist... and nobody said the quests were crap after that...

No offense to anybody but i think your holding something back my scaled friend, what does this quest end up in? Is it a great weapon even better than Greenmist? please share your information, oh great scaled mystic.
They added the last steps of this series of qeusts about a month or two ago in a patch. Here is the final weapon:

I was wondering if the look of this item changes as you upgrade it. The Iksar SK quest weapon changes 2 times (from a kunark bent dagger, to the 3-point sword, to a katana for Greenmist). Just curious.

Posted: Jan 22 2001 at 3:06 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Casters have been putting their Stein of Moggok in there off hand forever and they have melee stats, and believe it or not they don't get dual wield either, but most likely I don't think this one will really go in the off hand. I think they just didn't take out the secondary because of the of the way there database handles info. Of course, someone could just do this quest and check then come back and post it.
The Stein of Moggok doesn't have melee stats.

What I don't think you're getting here...do get this cudgel, you have to do a looong drawn out quest, not a drop of a creature like the sacrificial dagger. All of the cudgels that the quest rewards before this go in the range slot, so there IS a precedent for this to go in the range slot. They all SUCKED before this one though...and when we finally get one with stats, it no longer fits in the ranged slot. By the time you get this thing, you'll probably have a better weapon for your melee hand, though this would be an excellent range slot item. Everyone is ticked because 1. all the other cudgels in this quest line went in the range slot 2. if this doesn't go in the range slot then the whole string of quests has a pretty crappy end result. We're not complaining simply because this is a mace and doesn't go in the range slot, as you seem to assume by bringing up the totally random example of a (dropped!) dagger that happens to not fit in the range slot.
And finally, as for that stein...it's not a weapon, so of course it can go in your off hand. This IS a weapon, and therefore requires dual weild to wear in the off hand. Besides, there are much better *shields* that shamans can wear for their off hand...which once again you will either be able to get or have enough money to buy by the time you can earn this cudgel.

it can be used like a shield in the offhand, and just give the wis and resistances but not the melee stats? This item is too powerful to go into range.
Sorry, but no intelligent Shaman would use an item with zero AC in their offhand. AC is FAR too important to shaman.

I'm going to ask the dumbest question imaginable: Why would it be used as a shield, when it has no ac and is 1hb with dmg and delay? It is too powerful to go into range, but I wouldn't mind a 5 wis hammer as a shaman, even as a primary. Night.

I meant like a totem or something. You're the one that should get your karma lowered, not everything that goes into the secondary is a weapon or has AC. Vanear Book, Paw, Stein of Moggok, GBS, just to name a few.

Gee, I hope this picture isn't acurate. All the other little worthless cudgels could go in the range slot, so I figured that when you could finally quest for a cudgel with a wisdom modifier, you could put it in the range slot to get some use out of it. How many +5wis items can shaman use that go in the range slot, right? They should change this item. :(

They did change it!
I got mine yesterday, and it fits in the ranged slot! :)
It's also usable by all shamans not only Iksar (but still no drop).

The Darksea Harpoon and Howling Harpoon both can go in the range slot :)

Shhh dont say anything but my Dagger of Marnek only says primary and secondary and it goes in range.
Wow, where did you get a Dagger of Marnek that doesn't say "Range: 40"?
