I'm not sure level matters (it could), but Coldain faction does. I got my bracer in my mid 40's thanks to some friends. Head to Thurgadin and hail the quest giver. If he gives you the text, you have your answer.
Kill Giants/wolves in GD to up your Coldain faction. I'm not sure what level of faction you need...I was told "amiable" but I don't think I was amiable when I did the MQ...my friend was ally tho, so that might have mattered.
Then get the drops inside the Kael arena and Cobalt Scar/Sirens Grotto (you need decent Claws of Veeshan faction - also GD giants and wolves) to hunt in CS safely). I guess most people don't attempt this until their 40's because of the level of mobs. *shrug*

I am level 45 and just got my bracer. Found out I can't use it til lvl 50 though. Glad I kept my ES Vambraces, but I do not understand the min lvl 50 req at all to activate the effect. Drones of Doom is a lvl 34 spell if I remember correctly.

<<<<OLD POST<<<<The point is, it's a NO MANA unlimited clickable DoT...if they gave you that before 49-50 you might get "too much use out of it"...kiting at the lower level would be much easier and they can't exactly let us be the gods we were born to be -=)
From what I hear, all Pre-50 DoTs stack with the DoTs of the same line after 50 (I hope I've got that right, correct me if I'm wrong)...so when you are post-50 and casting 50+ DoTs, you can click this for a free stackable DoT...etc..etc... we rule
In other words...we'd be a little powerful not having to use mana for more than roots and snares in our kiting....just get the breastplate and be happy you get to use a level 58 spell at 50 -=P>>>>OLD POST>>>>>>>
Heh, guess I was just bitter from not getting my Crushed Opals from my guild for this...but I got it today, and it works at level 46!!!! (as did my Leggings with Circle of Misty!)
A bunch of my guildmembers just happened to be in Thurg before I got them, and our level 59 Enchanter gave me Clarity 3 (Koadic's Endless Intellect or something...it's beautiful!)...It took me a while to find them, but I got the Crushed Opals I needed, and got my bracer, headed to Dreadlands, and WOW....I was literally Speed Kiting! I had no downtime between Kites...I'd snare, run, root, use my Bracer....and of course it was the C3 keeping my up, but it makes a difference! no more sitting for 5 minutes cuz you overburned a 2 minute kite...you could do a heavy kite, using whatever mana you want...and then catch up by kiting with your bracer....never having to stop again....sure it's a lower DoT, but it wears itself out much quicker and the casting is free...so it's ...it's just awesome!!! I think in a week I can zoom thru to 49!! I know I can...this bracer is just awesome!
Jump on some Kael raids...keep going til you get the bracer (and any other piece for that matter..I got leggings on same night as I got the bracer..just cuz I was the only Leather wearer there!)...and go BUY the gems if you have to...it's so worth it!! Guess we are the gods we were born to be -=) (but don't let anyone else know that...they'll think we're big headed..)

lol, that was a BIG, LONG, post, but the fact is that u can use es vambraces, which also have effect of Drones, BUT, u can use at lvl 45, lol, i think that was the whole point of this guys post =D
Yea, I know this is an old post, but I agree...you can use at 45 at least. I got mine before 50 and it worked just fine...wish I could remember exact age...sorry.
Got this at 48 basically cos the wis/mana are far better than the old chipped bone bracer I had. Tried the effect expecting it to fail but it worked, imediatly sold my ES vambs and put some wis gear back onto my arms. Casting time on this is slightly faster than the ES vambs version 7.5 compare to 8 If I remember rightly. Since one of the more recent patches they now show the casting time as do all the clickable effect items.

Why would they make this stuff Beastlord? Its custom made for druids. Not only that but good druid equipment is rare at best, if not almost unattainable. Ok, Beastlord can only wear leather, great, does that mean they have to highjack a whole seperate class' stuff? Weak, and lazy.
Is it really beastolord stuff?
I imagine there was lots of mass updates to the allakhazam db when beastlords were added. Generally they use the same stuff as druids ie leathers so it could just be a db update error. Can anyone confirm?

No it isn't Beastlord wearable, Allakhazam stated in one of the news threads a while back that anything that was wearable by druids they basically tagged as BST wearable as well. They are gradually going through the items and correcting them.

I won these last nite in Kael Arena. I normally carry around 3 different bracers in my bag, along with 2 different sleeves. Selling my ES Sleeves since these have the same effect. Using Giant scalemail sleeves in their place. Why? VERY common drop in Arena plus 3 wis. The new bracer gives me the DoD dot as well as more mana that I can swap out to resist/ac gear. Now, if I could only win roll on Tunic, only seen it drop once, and I live in Arena.

Eroded Leather drops in Kael Drakkal.
Correct, off level 55+ Giants. Easiest way to get a chance at some Eroded Leather is to get on as many Kael Arena raids as possible.

I have seen crushed Gems drop in WL at the Sentient Armors, and in the dungeon of Icewell Keep. I have yet to personally see Opals but got one in trade from a bard who found it off the armors in WL.

I got a crushed opal from one of the higher spiders in Velketor's. I think they are random drops off all high level Vellious critters.

At lvl 46 and a well played druid I can not attemp to get the eroded armor. If there is ANYWHERE that you know of that drops the armor thats not like 55+ type stuff please tell.

Uh, sorry bud, black marble doesn't drop in CS, CHIPPED black marble does however. You tell me what mob you got the black marble off of in CS and I'll believe you.

I have been quading Wyverns in CS throughout level 50 and into 51. I have personally looted BOTH a Black Marble and a Chipped Black Marble off of them. Granted, in all that time I have seen only one of each.

I have heard that the Sirens that guard the entrance to Sirens Grotto can drop the BP gems, very rare.

haha... Those Enchantresses have no chance of droping BP gems... You have to go into places that need 55+ groups to have a steady supply of them on velious. SG is the best place to farm em.

To the response that this item is a POS.... This item is an alternative for planes armor and
just as good, if not better. Does your planes armor have effects on it? That's what I thought.

They made these for the people who can't ever get into a plane raid.
yah know, there are some drawbacks and good things too this item. verm bracers give more mana yes, but what about those people that cast drones of doom? well, you just gained mana by using these. these may be for the person that isnt high enough for planes raids, or doesnt either bother themselves witha guild, or their guild isnt big enough.
***** the big guilds. I like my little guild AND I like going my own way like a true Druid. I also have friends in the bigger ones that I group with often, but have no desire to go to.
I am glad there is an alternative to having to join some big organization to get planes like armor, something I was hoping for with the new expansion. Also I can't wait to see what it looks like on. Hope it's got some snazzy new texture.
It's gonna take me a while to do these new druid armor quests, but I have I have a new purpose in life now =)

heh dude.. small guilds arnt bad but u dont need a big guild to do fear? fear drops vermi of coarse and fear is so easy to farm. As long as you dont pull golems you can do fear all easy. I also have a small guild and we normally farm fear when ToV is camped, we only use 2-3 groups unless we do golems we need more. But even after every one left we were pulling mobs for exp with only 4 ppl left on the raid =).
fear is incredibly easy excluding the bosses and mini bosses.
Many other kunark zones are much harder then PoF
So dont think u need some huge *** guild to fight in fear, its a very simple zone.

Posted: Feb 03 2001 at 1:09 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Drones of Doom is a lvl 34 druid DoT. One hell of a spell, if you ask me, considering it takes 141 of mana and hits for 340 (in a minute), and is virtually unresistable.
Probably 45, but that's just a guess. The Elder Spiritist Vambraces start casting the same spell (Drones of Doom) at 45.
