Scars of VeliousSolo'ed this guy 3 times last night. 60 Druid. Charm a Dire Wolf buff it, and he can easily take out the Captain.. Didnt even need to heal. Trick is to park pet at zone and pull Captain to zone, just in case charm breaks you can quickly zone.
If your brave enough a charmed Dire Wolf cn tear through anything in this zone. besides the uber mobs. I was soloing named in the arena with this guy. charm only broke twice and I was lucky enough to re-charm before I got smacked. Lots of fun :)

Bought this tonight on Prexus for 1100pp. :-P Needlesss to say I think I got a GREAT deal and it's a beautiful upgrade of 8 AC over my ulthork collar.

i was lucky enough to tag along with a few of the Coven Nex crew the other day on an impromtu little kael raid. we had 3 Vexillarius's along with a cleric in our group and coven had the other group filled. he went down easy although he took a long time, massive HPS, and he dropped this. congrats to the warrior from Coven who got the GMT, i cant wait to get mine. the Coven Nex crew were all around 55+ i believe. the Vexillarius's that were there were 2 50s and me a 47 war, the cleric was 55 also for our group. so i think 1 solid 55+ group would not have probs with him. This was loads of fun for me getting the chance to kill this mug with awesome faction hits.

We killed the Captain three times Monday night. He dropped the torque twice and the sword once.

They changed the drope rate on this item. It's now a vary rare drop. The Glowing Black Sword is now the common. I've seen ppl makeing offers of 15k for this item on Fennin Ro

Key to this guy is getting a slow to stick on him. We had lots of trouble killing him without slow and had to zone. We got him slowed and a 52 cleric, sk, chanter, 51druid, and 55 necro took him with ease then.

We kill him 5 times with 1 war 1 clr 1 brd, drop this as common and Dire wolf hide cloak as rare
he doesn't drop that cloak lol......

we just did him tonight and he dropped it and we only had 1 cleric 1 war 1 pally 1 shaman 1 nec and 1 enc, he was easy

There are advantages to need vs greed:) Thank you very much Symphony of the Night guild on Tarew Marr:) (I was the only warrior on the raid) <got it by default> <cheer> btw took two groups with 56 clerics each to handle this guy well, he hits upwards to 200+, couldnt go back to look exactly, because all the battlespam, but if it wasnt for mark of Karn spell, we all woulda died:)

He is painful. We did the deed with 2 groups, all members in the 50 to 53 range. 2 SKs, 2 Warriors, 1 Shammy, 2 clerics and 5 druids. His strategy was pretty simple... summon caster... club to death. He repeated this several times. We finally killed him with 8 casualties. Our biggest problem was that I (lvl 53 SK) could only pull him with a friend attached, so we had to fight 2 at once. With a sufficiently high/EXCELLANT puller you could get him solo making it much easier.

We took this guy with one group . He is a tuff one and even tuffer if he is weilding his sword that dispells him to . I think he aslo drops a mantle of some kind cant remember name of it .

yes, he is excceedingly tough.
First off he heals himself constantly (luckily he can be interrupted ) - SHeal I would say ( thank Tunare it is not CHeal).
Second, when armed with the Sword (visible), he keeps dispelling himself, usually getting rid of dots, slws debuffs, etc... (Seems to be the one main reason for the sword's proc, IMHO)
Third he hits for 250+, double and triple strikes (on a paladin with Ac 1070 unbuffed, level 55 ).
Fourth, he is hard to pull single, often bringing the staff sergeant along ( who is tough himself ).
Fifth, he seems to be extremly p****d off when debuffed ( we noticed with the Druids Ro'series of spells - "sunder" once, be summoned...8/ ), usually resultig in being summoned ( which means a quite sudden death....)
Killed him twice today, first time our group had to break off, med up and reenter kael ( pal 55, mage 60, Ranger 60, cleric 57 druid 52 druid 54 ) to slay him (after rezzing the druids ) to slay him on the second run - as for tactics, on the second run we filled his buff-box with root and dots, before casting snares, slows and other debuffs, and had the melees (tanks and pet) fight
him down to 1/3rd, the nuked him away with starfires. Paladin and cleric tried to stun as often as possible ( which helped interrupt casting). Second time, two full groups (all 52nd to 55th, one bard of 40th) took him down in an all out slugfest ( no sword then ), with two casualties (one tank, one druid).
