This definately is not 0 trivial. Tried combining on my warrior who had 0 skill, failed, and tried many times before finally getting the key, and by then my JC skill was 5. So trivial is at least 5, and you might not be able to succeed on the combine until you have at least the trivial skill.
Am always suspicious of things saying they have a 0-trivial...
