Got this item on Live 4/6/2020. It's tradeable (not on FV).
Found it on my 6th or 7th Patriarch. This one was roaming outside of the giant fort. I used a tracker to kill every giant for ~45 minutes before this one spawned and dropped the monocle.

Finally got the Giant Sized Monocle last night for my lvl 57 warrior's epic quest. Had a lvl 58 Druid help me find him using Tracking.
Took over 2 hours to get him to spawn twice. First spawn was at the South mountain giant house. Dropped an Opal, no GSM. Second time he spawned in the Large Mountain Giant Fort in the middle of the zone. Dropped the GSM!!!
We cleared/killed over 100+ MGs over the course of 2 hours. All 4 camps and wanderers were cleared. Camps re-pop about every 15mins. Lots of roamers on the south middle zone area by frozen lake and mountains.
Mountain Giant Patriarch is level 44/45. Should be easy kill if you are 50+. Bring a friend if not.
Be patient on this one. No use single camping one of the giant houses. Random spawn. Four different MG houses in the Dreadlands. Never saw him spawn outside of the houses.

omg camped this guy for over a week, no bull ****. And had a tracker each time i attempted. He static spawns in random loc's, he spawned only once in fort, the rest were all out side away from fort. He spawned one day 10 times with no drop before i gave up that day. Then one day i went to look by myself cuz i couldnt find tracker and the first giant i see in Dl is patriarch, so i kill him and he finally had my drop, glad to be done with him
I duoed this camp with a botted 66 cleric and a 65 warr. After about 2 hours of camping I had a patriarch spawn in the second hut on the left, he dropped the monacle and a opal. I had another patriarch wander through but all he dropped was an opal and a word.

Patriarch cons blue to me at 58. i'm a SK, getting monocle for my war. goes down easy with only self buffs. i've seen 4 of these guys at the fort (while clearing) within an hours time. only Opals are dropping though. so i'd say 1 every other clearing is about right. dunno maybe i'm just getting lucky seeing him so often. /shrug hope this info helps.
I guess I got luckey .. the first time I went into DL looking for these dudes I found one inside the hut south west of the fort on the wall. Unfortunatley he droped a dang opal! So I went to the fort .. they do not spawn inside the fort .. at least not the 13 times I stood in there and slaughtered them. So, I went to the spawn spot mentioned just east of the fort over the hill. The spawn rate there is awsome ... and I did actually get one Patriarch to spawn there in about 5 cycles .... but, guess what .. it droped andother OPAL !!! These posts dateing back to 2002 stating that they get a drop every cycle ... or that they are a regular spawn ... or that they have every warrior in the guild come loot one .. are by todays standards .. a load of horse $%&^. Why is it easier to kill a named dragon in skyfire to get a regular red dragon scale drop than it is to get this dude to spawn and have the approprate drop on his carcase! This quest for status is azzbackwards in that respect I think. Oh well .. good hunting all and good luck getting the GSM.

I took this guy last night with my Drood (53). I just went into the fort to target him and then pulled him through the back wall. He has like 10k hp but he never resisted and root lasted full duration on every casting.

I finaly got the Monacle after 6 kills. Just fyi.. he doesn't always pop inside the fort. While waiting in between spawn cycles, I was running around pulling any giant I saw just to keep busy and sure enough, Patriarch was just east of fort (Immediately over the hills from the fort). The spawn rate for him was very good. He popped on almost every spawn cycle.

I, 60 Warlord with epic since 50, was there taking the Patriarh with a cleric friend (which wasn't neccessary since Patriarch coulda been soloed) for 6 hours and 10 dropped. Being lore I had guildies come pick them up one by one as they dropped. Got 10 warriors in guild their epics all at once one night a week later when we all had the last pieces to turn in for the Red Scabbard, Plane of Air was a biznatch for all the Spiroc Wingblades. Just imagine a bunch of warriors in line equiping there epics and tryin them out in KD on AoW and SoRZ for celebration, me being the only one tryin out the 2hander at the time. Awwwww....those were the days. Well, there ya go.

I joined my guild at the DL Giant fort today. They were already hunting for the monochle for a warrior who was already there. He got the monocle off the first Patriarch. The group stuck together so I could get one. A total of six more Patriarchs spawned, but none of the droped the monochle. Two Tree Weaves droped, and some other sellable things. How often is the monochle supposed to drop?

This piece is relatively one of the easiest pieces of the warrior epic to get. At level 46 a druid who was 38 and I took the whole fort by ourselves and when the Patriarch spawned i got toasted lol. I had my friend 56 Wizard come and he nuked the F**K outta him. He dropped quickly and also dropped my piece on the first kill. Random drop yes, but easy, yes. With a little work you can get it. Go to Mentrax Mountainbone in the back of FM giant fort in the mine and hand him this monacle. He gives you rejesiam ore which is used in the finely crafted dragon head hilt.

We did this on saturday, all we did was kill everything in the fort and got a druid to track and pull anything wandering around the place. We got 2 pops of the patriarch and both times it dropped the monocle. This was in about 45 min so i think it is just a totaly random drop

It seems any of the mountain giants near the fort may be a placeholder for the Patriach as well as those in the mountain giant fort.
Killed the Patriach about 8 times the other night, sometimes 2 up at once, dropped the monacle on the 8th so its a reasonably rare drop.
We cleared the fort & any roamers nearby, patriach also dropped a forest loop & a treeweave during the kills.

Is this used in any other quests? A druid ks'd the kill from me and said he needed it for another quest.

Actually, yes, the monocle is thought to be used in at least one other quest. There is a quest in Kael Drakkel for monk chest-straps. Though the info here on the quest is incomplete it seems rather obvious that this is one of the pieces needed.

Says used in Particle Weapon Quest..... Any one have any further info on this quest? what it starts, stats on item or anything?

Particle Weapon means epic......one of the best weapon for a class (each class has one)

Get off your butt and do it, there are so many pieces to the warrior epic that if you dont plan on working to get it then you dont deserve your Epic. Capiche?
