Legacy of YkeshaDropped off an initiate inside the Nautilus room. Level 70 Cleric, pulled waves of 5-6 of them and ae'd - ds potion, clarity potion, and steadfast servant for free heals and haste.
Got the vial after about 2 pulls (roughly 10 mobs).
Their tendancy to gate isn't exaggerated... had a couple at the end who gated at least 3 times each. Get them to around 16% and throw a nuke, they'll try to gate as early as 15%.

Dropped off an initiate guarding the Nautilus room. He's the one you can see from the room that looks like it's being excavated. Camped him and the furious for a full day (eight hours)solo with no results. The next day I got it on the first kill.

I went in the south east entrance, went south, turned west, and killed the adherant on the east side of the door. Got it first try!

This item is NOT able to be foraged in Gunthak. Spent 8 hours there with my 65 Druid and a Foraging machete for a total of 220 skill, got about 15 Gunthak water, no vial. Also have spent 4 hours foraging in Nadox, so feel compfortable that it is not there either. just FYI. Going to go kill for it now.
Yes it drops from the initiates. It just dropped for me hunting here... last piece I needed for my blood spell on my little shaman.

Let me point out that the Initiates that drop these Are in the Nautilus room, not in the temple.
Cleared temple 5 times, no drops, 1st one I killed in the nautilus room dropped one. (I have cleared the temple many other times while not hunting them and don't recall seeing one ever drop there)

I just had one of these drop off of lizard warrior in Cazic Thule! We were just pulling at the zone. Go figure.
This part does not come off an initiate.. or if it does its ultra rare. it does come off the Adherents. when you zone into nadox and go through the lava take a right and then take the first tunnel to the right the adherents are down towards the end.

Not true. Today I got vial from initiate =D
This is true......... spent several hours killing Initiates in Nadox and never got a vial. Within an hour or so after we began hunting the Adherents in Nadox (near the Nautilus room) we got 3 vials.
nope, different quest item, Ulugh. you can usually tell what class the quest is for by the quest items. when you right click on them, it'll say what class its for. :)

Actually in EQ it is pretty rare for quest items to specify which class it is intended for. For example the Twilight Sea quest armor drops don't and you get tons for them from various named at the same time.
LoY spell quest items are labelled though.

I got a "vial of blackened blood" off of a blackhand...does anyone know if thats the same thing?

A broken skull adherent dropped this and the glowing zraxthril amulet for the lvl 52 ranger quest at the same time.
