Planes of Power
This particular weapon would go straight to my trader alt; I would not even think of using it. For one thing, from my standards it's nowhere near as good as the Ancient Tome of Necromantic Magik currently in my Primary slot; for another, it's a weapon, & I do my utmost to stay as far out of melee range as possible.
I'm a Magician, not a Warrior.

I have it for the name... Mmmmm the putrid fish, so tasty! Just needs a little pickle relish.
truthfully i'd like this for the graphics. This is one of the rare and "exotic" graphics in terms of weaps.

Was given this as a gift when i first started playing,Necro btw, and at lvl 52 am still using it. Love it.
These nifty items drop when you're clearing minis before Bertox.

by the by yes it does still have damage on it...seen 1 tonight in pok guy was selling it. same stats as above
I just bought one of these last night in Bazaar, and I can confirm that this item does NOT display any DMG Bonus when equipped by me as a lvl 61 Enchanter.
dmg bonus only applies to melee type, IE: if you link this to a warrior they will see a dmg bonus, but if you are an enc it wont show any to you.
I have hunted ALOT in COD and I have yet to see this drop. Someone who got it PLEASE post who drops it.

There are no damage bonuses for intelligence casters. The person who took the screenshot is a melee class. Even though he cannot equip this item, it will still show the damage bonus for that type of weapon. The damage bonus is based on level, and is melee class only.
Actually, I think that's a pretty decent item.
Im flagged for this zone and would like one just for looks, is there any certain race of mobs that drops this or totally random of any mob in zone?

Im sure all of that is mis information since the putrid fish is purely a caster weapon. So please, someone set the record str8.

hybrids also get dmg bonus, just no priest or INT cater, so only ones that DO NOT get dmg bonus is wiz, enc, nec, mag, clr, dru, shm. every other class gets dmg bonus. and yes it works like that, lets say you have a 15/20 weap and it has 10 dmg bonus, it will add 10 dmg to hits, not make it a 25/20 weap. also a melee class must have taken this pic and sent it in. it wont show any dmg bonus to casters

Funny. If you check out my profile (at the moment I am the only character listed under "Premium Characters with this Item") I am using it. As a matter of fact I know several pure casters (the only classes than can equip this item) who use "A mind worm fang" for the +5 Int. Now... compare those stats to this things stats... no comparison. I have a feeling this will be my weapon for a long time. The only negative I see in this item is the name (should proc some disease-based spell with description such as Putrid)... and most characters don't see the name of the item before they see the graphic itself.
On another note. Other than the fact that you can dual-wield. I looked at your Magelo profile... the weapon in your primary (Slarghilug Spear) isn't any better than this thing! At least, not by my standards. :p

Would be a lot funnier of this was a blunt weapon. I can just imagine someone grabbing a fish by the tail and just clubbing someone with it :)
