dropped of the named roamer at back of Gy and secret door up to stairs, we were here 7 or 8 times over a few weeks, he spawned about 5 times out of about 20 PH. my Classic Paladin got te helm 1 time, and the shoulders 1 time, lovely jubbly

I had been hunting around the jail for sometime with the best loot being mere plat or fine steel weapons. After awhile, I camped, then decided late tonight to get back on and do some more hunting, since I couldn't sleep.
First thing I see in the jail room by the stair is this odd fellow in full plate called an Avenging Caitiff.
I pulled him and killed him with the usual nuke and duke and --viola!-- I'm looting a crested helm.
Very nice surprise.
I love it! The stats are better than the lumberjack cap I had and it looks great with my armor.
In fact, I look downright scary ... like a Teir'Dal priestess should. *grins evilly*

Does anyone know what level an SK and Shaman go go into Mistmoore and get one of these? or the spaulders too? Im currently level 36 but Will be probably 38 before I think about going there

i got this for 250pp on Ayonae Ro server quite a few levels back...think i was below 20 or something. i don't plan on getting rid of it simply because it's the best graphic i have seen so far in the way of ranger helms. dunno about stats tho....
are there any other ranger helms that have similar/cool looking graphic?

He was blue at 35 and wasn't to hard at all.
Supposedly a rare drop but this was the 1st time I had seen him. Might have just been lucky..
So I gave it to my rogue who looks quite good in it. Doesn't look like the graphics though. Has two pointy horns coming off each side like some Vikings helmet.. Nifty Anyway

Im always trying to figure out what has that... sort of Horned / green man stag look. I think that looks bad ***. Id assume the Ivy etched has it. I have a Wood Elf Rogue on PvP Id like a graphic that appears and doesnt look like a stupic chain coif

Iksar SK can wear this, i Dont know from experience but just by looking at the graphic there are no race restrictions and it is SK wearable

The only way i can see using this is for palys, rogues, or bard-for all the other classes listed, ssb would be my choice and a lot cheaper option at that. Just my 2 cents-

Mixed emotion - the STR is rather appealing and the CHR sure doesn't hurt, but for the plat (assuming SSB cost is correct) as well as the hitpoints and saving throw, the SSB is definately better.

I have a crested helm and a crown of the holy defender, and the ssb is much better than both. I'll trade the crested helm for an ssb on sullon, in fact.

I think this is better then SSB any day for any class. Anyway, this is good for rangers because it is one of the few Full Plate looking Helms that rangers can wear. I bought this in mind of starting a shammie, but shammies cant use! So, Im gonna get full ringmail/banded and start a Ranger.

Youz see, de problem heer iz dat two compleetely seprut fillosofeez are at werk. One sez dat 'Armuh iz de King - evryfing else iz rubbish', an de uther sez 'Strenf iz best - bash yur enemies ter deth befaw dey can hurt youz!' If youza followa ov de furst way ov finkin, den dis helm iz no gud. If like meez, howevva, youz beleev in Strenf above all els, den dis helmet iz far, far sooperyuh to a SSB or RyGorr Chain, or wotevva... An well werf payin 400 pp for! :)

Is this item better than a skull shaped barbute(Im wearin it now) Its 13 AC +10 SVM and +35 HP i think...

Well, I would not switch my skull shaped barbute for this as a warrior, since AC is more important than STR in my opinion. Plus 35 HP and 10 SV magic are also good warrior stats. I see the warrior main task to be to absorb damage, and AC, HP and SV magic will all do that. Just my thoughts...

Hmmm, well out of all the times i zoned with 35 hp or less i would still say yes. i would give up 3 ac and 35 hp for 6 str any day... but you lose 10 sv M so i think its up to the person and the armor they have.
