INSANE TRADESKILL

Love this bracer however I question Allakhazam who claims I have a 61% chance of success with my skill of 197. With my automated hammer giving +5% Smithing skill.

First attempt: I was 1 of 8 combines.
Second attempt: I was 0 of 7 combines.
Third attempt: I was 1 of 10 combines.

Bad Luck you say. Please No Way,Not on three different days at different times with the Moon, Saturn , Mars and Jupiter all in sync with my birth sign. Yes I did rub my lucky rabbits foot with crossed fingers after I tossed salt over my shoulder and knocked on wood.

Look folks I work at a Casino and I have seen some amazing things but there is no way you will make me believe this is a 61% combine. Maybe I did not understand the figure. I would say with my skill I have more like a 39% chance of success if even that and I was having a real bad run of luck. Check with your own various skills.
<<< Look for Recipes to your left. Click on Trade skill Search. Be sure to enter your current Skill in the Search engine. Note the % chance of success for various items and judge for yourself.

Just my opinion I could be wrong.

Ummm, where does it say anything about a 61% success rate at 197 skill?

Even if the trivial is exactly 251, which is doubtful, then your success rate at 197 plus geerlok (206) modified, would still be only about 36% (80%-(250-206)). Success rates on most items are about 80% at exactly their trivial level. You don't reach 95% success rates until about 15-20 points above trivial.

Now once you consider the fact that the blue diamond culturals have about a 40% success rate at 250 skill, and therefore, the "true trivial" if it could be known, is probably about 290 or so, even that seems unlikely. Since your modified skill is about 80+ points below the likely trivial of the item, you'd most likely hit the 5% minimum success rate. BTW, your success rate was 4% which is almost exactly what I would expect. I didn't even attempt the BD cultural until 220+ skill (+geerlok), and then still had pretty low success rates.

The thing is this, for items with trivials ABOVE 250, there is NO WAY to find the true trivial. Therefore, every website that posts trivials, either says 250 trivial, or >250 trivial.

Where does it say anything about a 61% chance of success you ask?? Follow directions please..

Click on 'TRADE SKILL SEARCH'
Named: Open
Tradeskill: Smithing
Triv Range: 0 to 250
Requiring Zone: Neriak 3rd gate
Race: open ( or enter Dark elf )
Diety : open ( or enter Innoruuk )
Include Racial: Click YES
order by: TRIV
YOUR SKILL: ENTER 197 and click!

If you still do not see the 61% by the DPR Bracer I dont know what to say. Post again that you dont see 61% and ill send in a screen shot if I have to. I just call them like I read them. I do not make things up to waste everyones time. I am curious what makes your information any more Accurate or less ? At least I am giving some #'s to dispute what I have been reading. Please feel free to back up your claims with some actual #'s if you would be so kind. Like how many attempts / Success did you have ? I would like to note that I still fail about 25% of the time with Mistletoe Tempers ( 136 triv ) and my brewing skill is 192.
first stack: 15 success out of 20 combines
Second Stack: 14 success out of 20 combines
Third stack: 16 success out of 20 combines. How would this fit into your theory ?

Thanks much SUZY

Did everything you said. And oddly, what I saw was a SUCCESS LESS THAN OR EQUAL TO 61%. The standard terminology for ANY item with a trivial OVER 250.

My info, comes from being an active member of eqtraders for the past 3 years, and a GM smith for 2 of them. I've made well over 200 peices of heraldic armor, which is the human equivalent of DPR armor. The success rate is approximately 40% at 250 skill.

If you don't believe me, go to eqtraders.com, and read a bit. I'm sure you will find it enlightening.

BTW, I like how you edited the original post, to make it look like you explained what you were talking about with the 61% stuff, when it originally said nothing about tradeskill search, etc.

So, the real question is, have you checked the trivial on dark prince regent armor since the new UI was added. NOW the game tells you the actual trivials. Assuming all the blue diamond stuff has the same trivial, regardless of race, the trivial in this will be 335.

Also, regarding the sickle comment from before, ALL the quest items for PoTC have unusual fail rates for their trivials, something that has also been mentoned several times at eqtraders.
Level to Attain?

Can someone please explain why there is a level to attain when no level is needed for smithing?

what they mean is you can get your smithing up to 250 at lv 1. So there is no need for a rec lv. But i guess you'll need to be lv45 to get one of the items needed to make this.

Because the Recommended Level is 45 on all of the Dark Prince Regent armor. If they had a picture, you'd be able to see the recommended level listed in the stats.

A recommended level of 45 on the armor means that the stats will be reduced if you try to wear it and are lower than 45.
