why a bard?
i have a lvl 31 bard and like him but not sure to play him.
do bards get like songs that do alot of damage and what weapon should i use well pretty much whats are bards good for?what can they do.

Well as you might know, bards arnet exactly tanks in any sense of the word. They deal damage on the side but their main job would be twisting, IE playing 3 songs at once. I'm sure you figured out how to do this by now. Second to that, they are a mana battery. Some groups dont even want you to fight, just sit there and gain exp. This is what I encountered.. I loved my bard. Burning up the roads was my FAVORITE THING TO DO! When I ran past people I would go "VROOM!!" Ah.. I havent played EQ in years but I'm thinking about making the return!
"jack of all trades, master of none" is a somewhat accurate description of Bards except they really cannot do everything, and they really are the best at a few things.
Bards cannot 'tank' in the classic sense of the word because it is very difficult for us to hold agro, and our mele mitigation is pathetic. Yes, yes I know, it is possible, given incredible gear, but then I've seen a Necro tank in Rss, but he was CoA geared.
There are countless high end encounters that I just wont do without a Bard [Ya I play one now, but when I played my Cleric, some encounters are 200% harder without a Bard]. We pull better then most classes in most zones. We increase resistance more then any other class can. We provide incredible mana and health regeneration. Through certain lvls, we can solo better then any other class [swarm kite in pon at lvl 50 and you'll see what I mean].
Bards are incredibly fun to play, but can be very challenging also.

bards can solo good tho right?
Bards can solo easilly to 60ish if you know where/how to do it. Any other class, even Necros find it more and more difficult to solo after that. I can still chant kite at 70 (blue mobs) and there are even some blue mobs I can mele solo (I'm qvic geared with 1.5 and time sword)

o and 1 mor ething what shoul di put stats on i was thinking of putting them on sta and what ever1's help with not missing a note

so this is a releated but somewhat unanswerable question, but what kind of gear should a lvl 31 bard have? i was soling pretty nicely. now I can't beat anything except light-blue mobs, and most fights I end up running away as my HP and the mob HP are going down at the same rate.
I'm assuming my gear needs updating, but everything I research needs lvl40 or more
any suggestions?
