Classes: The Bard

Bards - the jack of all trades. Each level is a new song and a new way to play. Handy with a weapon and able to wear decent armor, bards can hold their own in a fight. Plus, the ability to twist two to three songs without using mana gives the bard a magical ability like no other class.

What are the strengths and weaknesses of the bard? Can they solo, and if so how? How should they best contribute to the group? What is the best strategy to develop your bard? What skills and songs are the most important for you to master? What equipment should you be trying to get for your bard.

Post your strategies on how to best play and develop the bard and read, rate and comment on what others have to say.

havent really used this in a while, but it was very useful for me at lower levels...
for twisting songs with hotkeys, i have found a very easy way of doing this. it only required 2 hotkeys, and you only have to click twice to twist 3 songs fully. there are some down sides to it though:

1. if a song fizzles, you have to wait until it cycles back through to get that effect.
2. once you start the sequence, you cant stop it. this means that if you need selo's to get away, you have to wait for the sequence to stop.
3. it is near impossible to talk while twisting songs, as every line of the hotkey will clear the text you are typing.

still... i have found it to be a _very_ effective way to twist songs, and use it frequently while in groups. anyways, here it is.

___________
hotkey 1:

/pause 28, /cast 3
/pause 3, /stopsong
/pause 28, /cast 1
/pause 3, /stopsong
/pause 28, /cast 5

hotkey 2:

/stopsong

___________
there you go. all you have to do is hit hotkey number 1, let it cycle through. then when the last song kicks in, hit hotkey number 2, then number 1 again to repeat.

hope this helps alot of people out there.

Some folks like that method. Personally I don't for all the downside reasons you mentioned. I am enough of a control freak that I will put up with all the key tapping. Sure, its more work but I also have a greater degree of adaptability to changing situations.

Bards are not very chatty in groups. Our job is to sing, not run our mouths off. ;-)

I tried using this and it doesnt seem to work when I attepmt to use it, it seems like its not reading the second command on each line...

Am I doing something wrong while making the hotkey or does this just not work anymore?
