I just picked up a faster cast item for my necro and wont be able to use it soon, I was wondering if a bard can use it so they can cast their songs faster since they are like spells. Does this work?

Unfortunately Improved CastTime item's do not work for bards, in fact no focus effect items work for bards. This seems unfair untill you realise that instruments fulfill this role for bards. So where dot casters can get an Burning Affliction 4/Afliction Efficiency and so on, Bards can get drums, which do more for us than any focus effect.
