Anger III AUG Question
#1 Sep 02 2004 at 2:15 AM Rating: Decent
Level 65 Warrior with almost 100 AA's, Blade of Carnage and Split Blade of Destruction.

Would the Anger III Aug have a better chance to proc on the BoC or the SBoD?

Thanks for any assistance you can give me.

Whichever one you have in your primary slot.

I would assume that would be the BoC.

Proc rate is based on procs per minute, regardless of whther the augment is put on a fast or slow weapon.

However, primary hand procs a significant amount higher than secondary, possibly as high as double.

So, with BOC primary, with the aug, you would get more augment procs per minute, than BOC primary and augment in the split blade.

Xaanru is correct, primary proc rate is almost twice that of secondary. Aug should be in your BoC anyways, for the following reasons.

In my opinion, you should buy a CHoS or even a SotBS... you can never have "too much agro", and the split blade does nothing for warriors besides the semi-cool blade graphic (and brutal hilt graphic...).

If you want dual wield DPS, sell your SBoD buy 2 velium gemmed longswords or maces. And then with the money leftover buy a CHoS for agro use and STILL have a good chunk of change left.

Explained best here: TSW - Split Blade of Destruction

Just my opinion though.

Kallos,

Thanks for the advice and the link to the other string. I was surprised to see so many people flaming the SBoD. I thought it was a pretty decent weapon but I guess I am just a dumbass and should have saved alot of money and got a CHoS. Haha.

I do see that benefit of having a procing weapon that you can add a anger aug to though.

Once again thanks for the reply.

Well for me I have done this. Have the BOC in my primary hand with a Anger III on it. My secondary weapon is the SBOD, that also has a anger III. Say this the argo I get is Betty Betty Good . Do use both of those when I do MT when raiding and it works great =p.

There's not much wrong with the SBoD, really. The issue is that a weapon with an innate agro proc + an aug agro proc will cause more hate (via more procs) than a weapon with no innate agro proc + an aug agro proc.

If you hold agro well with your aug'd BoC/SBoD combo, stick with it.

SBoD looks wicked :D

I'm just curios, why are there weapons that are warrior only and that don't have procs like the split blade and shortblade of lightling? They have great ratios but no procs. I guess they'er good for when your not main tank?

Yes, non-proc weapons are very useful when NOT the MT. After all what raid for 40 people is going to only have one tank along.

All the others need to MINIMIZE their aggro (except the rampage tank). Nothing worse than a raid that progressing nicely on a boss kill, and one of the dps tanks pulls aggro, turning the mob on all the dps, just in time for a cone AOE to go off.

Also, any relatively fast weapon with an Anger 3 proc will hold aggro pretty well. One of the tanks in my guild used to use 2 velium gemmed LS with anger three augs, and MTed very well.

True, a double proc is probably better, but two anger three augs will hold pretty decent aggro no matter what they are augged to.

As a side note, if you choose to carry both agro and non-agro weapons and need to switch between them quickly, it's not hard to either modify or download an appropriate UI to make switching easier.

Try www.eqinterface.com for an excellent selection of player made UIs.
