Who ever sees Erudite Clerics and Paladins? And out of fairness. it should have also been SK wearable since Erudite Clerics can be either good or evil, the Paladin's evil counterpart should have been considered when this item was created, or at least updated later.

My cleric has all three pieces of this armor. The other night in unrest, a friend who has the cleric quest bp agreed to let me see what the cleric armor actually looks like on an erudite. I put on the bp, watching my ac to see the boost, and was surprised to see my ac actually went down. I switched the two out repeatedly to make sure my eyes weren't deceiving me, and rechecked teh stats on the midnight coat vs cleric bp, to make sure there was no agility bonus involved (and no, i was not encumbered the time i was trying on the bp. I was when i got the full suit of cleric armor on tho). I am wondering if anyone else has noticed this effect. I know it sure struck me as odd, that a bp with 5 more ac on it, would lower my ac versus wearing the midnight sea mail coat.

I assure you Mug drops this item still. I just picked it up today on the Fironia Vie server, with my 38 Iksar Shaman. The wonderful thing is, it is not a no-drop item on this server =)

Everyone has those bad luck spawns....I've personally killed undead jester about 15 times, with no Iksar berserker club, and camped him for about 25 hours (then SoL came out) only to have the club drop in value so that I could easily afford to buy it...But I feel your pain

The reason it is not dropping for you is because there is a loot code in effect in the warrens.if the mob is green to you it will not drop magic or no drop items .......ever

Wandered into the Warrens with my level 38 warrior to have some fun and get faction up, took down Muglwump and I looted this nice item. Does anyone know what approximate worth it could have?

A Nice Looking Piece of Armor
# Jan 11 2002 at 4:51 PM Rating: Decent
My erudite paladin picked this up after my shadowknight camped the tadpole off and on for two weeks. The tadpole finally dropped it after about the tenth kill.

Looks excellent combined with the other two pieces of Midnight Sea Mail - with the new graphics it is a dark scaly blue with purple highlights. Very unique looking for the level that you get it :)

Oh and not a bad piece of armor either!

I was in the Warrens a few nights ago, and saw a ranger that had pulled the Muglwump to near the Paineel entrance. Both he and the Muglwump were gettng low on HP, and I did not want to see the ranger die after such a valiant effort. So, I took a chance and unleashed my most powerful spell unpon the creature. To my surprise, it was not resisted! As the spell hit, the beast fell, and the battered and bloody ranger looted his kill.

I asked him if the corpse held anything interesting for him, and he mentioned the tunic. My son Bejaizen, a 16th level paladin of Quellious, was camped just outside the entrance, a fact I mentioned to the ranger. He said that as a token for my help, my son could have the tunic, as its magical properties only allowed it to be worn by paladins and clerics of my race. I happily got my son, who now wears this fine tunic.

(OOC: A lucky happenstance, that's for sure. I'm glad there were no other Erudite clerics or paladins there that night, I've been hoping for the chance to get one of these for quite a while. Bej was wearing an etched iron breastplate, (AC 18, but weight 12.5,) so I must confess I was a little reluctant to give up the extra AC. But being an Erudite, he needs all the STR he can get. When you factor in the +3 to STR this gives, it's like having a BP that weighs 2.1! I decided to give the BP to my Barbarian warrior. I can't wait until I get Luclin (which I believe I'm getting as a Christmas present,) so I can see what this looks like with the new graphics. Now I've got to have him do the quests to get the rest of the ensemble.)

Note: At the time of this original post, Arjaizen was 22nd level, not the level indicated below - hence the surprise at Muggy's not resisting the spell. :-)

Just passing through the Warrens with my 34 druid and noticed it was chock full 'o doggies and no one else and all the big spawns were on track so I took them out, one at a time. King still gives me exp, and drops nice ( I want, but didn't get)Forelorn Naginata, and the Shammy doesn't drop for me at all. Is trivial loot code in effect for this zone? What a bummer. The big Pollywog gives a nice chunk of exp to me ( still BTM at 34!)and was lucky enought to have him pop while I was walking through the batling caves, came back to his room through the secret ent and he dropped the Etched Chitin Shield, which is kinda nice, AC 12, hp +10, sv poison +7, sv mag +2 ( I think)Anyone know about how often the Prince drops either the Shield or the Cape of the Forlorn? or if I'll never get the drop 'cuz of level to high? Also, I got a quest down here, delivering a nnote to Priestess Laraena in Erudine.....would love my faction in Erud to go up, but I can't seem to locate this Priestess, anyone know where she hides? Thx ) and happy, lucrative hunting!
Rare?

Passing through on my way to Stonebrunt yesterday and the Warrens were empty of players and the Muglwump was up, so I detoured and killed it. It had both the coat and the soiled evokers robe on it alone with a potion of light healing. Took the potion, let the others rot. Too bad there was nobody in the zone that could use them. I only kill things there if nobody of level is there. I think the King has a short life expectancy now that his throne room is a super highway to a midlevel zone.

Ranger Boriana, level 35 and holding.

LOL, been farming, sorta, the warrens for 2 days now. Me(25 ranger) and wizzy friend(58, he pulls mob and keeps it aggroed on him while I get it to half). Anyways he has a 2 hour and 30 minute spawn time everytime I believe. Killed him 5 times today, dropped the midnight coat once (destroyed it cuz no one in zone could use) fishing pole twice (again destroyed) 4 potions of light healing and one of invis, and the stein which my druid took just for the looks. He hasn't been very good to us and the wizard REALLY wanted the robe hehe, oh well maybe tomorrow. I really want the lantern for my enchanter and the robe wouldn't be so bad for my wizard either ) I started them just for the loot from the warrens hehe
VERY RARE
# Jul 13 2001 at 10:23 PM Rating: Decent
I have now killed The Muglwump 23 times.

He has a varying spawn time from 90-150 mins as near as I can tell. No PHs.

I too have recieved every drop off Muggy many times. 6 potions of invisbility, 2 of light healing, 2 helms of ridossan, multiple fishing poles, steins, lanterns, shields, and some 10-20pp gems.

I'm starting to become very frustrated . . . =|

I like the idea of the items he drops being NO DROP, but if they're restricted to so very few races and classes why the rarity??

Back to the camp I go . . .
Where is this damn coat?
# Jun 12 2001 at 11:52 AM Rating: Default
Well its a good thing I visited this website cuz I now see some going through the same thing I have been through, to get this coat. I have camped this oversized pollywog for two going on three days and have received every single rare drop he has at least two to three times and still no coat. I have killed him around 20 times. I now have at least hope in knowing that he DOES drop it. Back to Warrens I go.
Not exactly a common drop

My alts have practically lived in the Warrens and have killed the big tadpole numerous times and this piece of armor has NEVER dropped.

Sheesh...maybe I'm just unlucky.

I killed the Muglwump as a lvl 25 monk. Was a little tough, had to feign death and use bind wound to get up to half life before I could finnish him off. Good thing he didn't regain his hp too fast =)
Dropped the Coat for me, and luckily I had my lvl 9 erudite cleric logged at zone. I managed to get all the way into the Muglwumps cave using Divine Aura and loot this nice little coat. I like it being no drop, as I play on Ralloz Zek.
Looks like ringmail with a deep blue colour on it.

He seems to drop this item like mad and it always rots even if you call it out to the zone. There were not erud clerics or paladins there once when I was camping mugwump.

He is still blue to a level 32 and i heard still drops the loot to a level 35 (must be high green then)

His hour and a half or so spawn time makes this a horrible mob to camp for xp though.

The things I've seen on him were this coat
(A LOT)

Some magician 2 int fishing pole
(again a lot)

An erud sk 7 ac or something helm with reclaim
energy (pet goes away and you get some mana back)
(seemed rare, this item would be nice for an erud sk to swap out to discharge pet as sks don't get the spell otherwise.)

He has a LOT of hit points for his level really but is not that hard since he is intent on mostly casting lil disease or poison spells all during the fight.

In a month or so when no one goes to this area now a group of level 24's or so could do all the named and what not in this zone and have some fun probably. In the meantime the gigantic spawn times and everyone checking camps to grab somethign as soon as it pops makes the area not very good.

If you are an erud pally or especially cleric and want this item I'd go there and hang out. Someone was always camping mugwump there when I was not or rechecking his spawn and this no drop tunic does rot a lot.

I am a 23 ranger on tunare and I along with a 22 warrior have been camping muggy since we were 20.....we just se muggy spawn, recruit a healer (druid is great with the damage shield) a nuker if there is one and go in for the kill. Usually doesn't take more than half of the healers mana to get us through the fight. haven't seen a ranger drop off of ol muggy yet though.... o well great xp
